It doesn’t have to get published, it doesn’t even have to be good. I just really want to write a creative story that a child might enjoy.
I’ve sat down several times to brainstorm but all of my ideas are either extremely boring and cliche or inappropriate for children.
I’m going to keep working at it anyway.

I am not “giving up;” I just think that I would make a much better academic writer of children’s lit than an actual writer of children’s lit

I’ve written three childrens’ books in the past few years. One have to do with numbers, one with drugs and one with differences in ourselves and others. I can’t draw, so I’ve found a friend that is illustrating them for me…although that’s not necessary to get them published. I’m refining them now and will be sending my proposals to publishers soon.

Probably a young adult story – it’s what I read, it’s what I like and oh how I remember that time.
Don’t promise it will be any good though.

I’ve started a story, five years ago, and want to pick it up again. It’s poem to be illustrated, (I even have a willing illustrator). It was supposed to be for a particular little girl. I keep hoping I’ll finish it before its too late.
What stopped my forward progress was the problem of rhyme, and since then that seizure allowed me to lose confidence in the unfolding details of the story. I’m not sure how to get over this.

i’d like to write a childrens story (or collection) that is clever, whimsical and delivers a lesson or some kind. i’d like to have it illustrated also. i feel like it would be a good opportunity to relax my mind (seeing things simply and clearly and writing them that way) and, hopefully, i can impart useful information to the young reader (s)...
