lovenatasha Day of shopping and dinner by the beach!
Even though it was quite hot I took them on a quick 15 minute power walk!
How I did it: set my alarm for 5.30 am so i could walk them before getting the kids ready for school. walked them during the day on the weekend with my kids on bikes and husband to help. i've only been going for 2 weeks but it's been a mental shift in that i need to do it for them and me (so that they're more manageable and better behaved). it's making it a priority and the other benefits are to my fitness and mental health (it's lovely and peaceful at that time of the morning). i also realised that i'm not setting a good example for my children if i don't teach them that reaponsibility side of pet ownership. the dvd has helped me to walk them so that they don't pull me anymore so it's really quite enjoyable and i now know how to deal with the other things that used to freak them out ie other dogs and cats.
Lessons & tips: just put on your shoes, grab a leash and walk for as long as you can. the dog whisperer reckons 45mins minimum.

I love making my dogs happy. And I love to see them healthy.
They jump in the air when I say “Do you want to go for a walk? DO YOU WANT TO GO BYE-BYE?!?”
They go nuts.
It’s so fun to take my little 4 year old sister out with me.
I need to do this.
My three dogs are so happy to go walking with me on a regular basis. I take them out one at a time for about a half mile each. They are really good now at walking with the leash and not trying to drag me around the block. Such good dogs!
I have been doing really good with this goal so I am marking it off. My dogs are very happy and much less spastic at home (they are boxers so believe me, they get crazy!). Plus, this is helping me out with my other excercising goal as well!!
Walk you dogs, they will love you even more for it!
I actually took both of my dogs for walks 3 times last week!! It has been perfect weather but, I am not sure how well I will keep this up once it gets warmer. I live in Tempe, AZ and honestly I don’t know how motivated I will be when it starts to get to be over 112 degrees.
It sucks to live in a gangbanger, meth-head, tweeking, prostitute ridden neighborhood!
My kids and dogs suffer the most! I have not walked them in ages. We have a huge 10k sq ft yard and they enjoy it but…
Walking the dogs is a happy time, a time to reflect on the days happenings, the kids chatting happily about their day and what so-and-so said and did that day. The dogs sniffing at the fresh evening breeze that carries our voices across the neighboorhood. Waving hello to our new neighbors.
My secret benefit is excersising my own body, getting some activty in an otherwise sedentary lifestyle.
I cant wait, walking the dogs is more than what it seems.

I just bought some biodegradable poop bags so I’m super excited to test them out. It will be nice to know I can take my dogs for a walk and not use a shopping bag that will not biodegrade. They are made out of cornstarch and biodegrade easily. A much greener way to walk the dogs!
I just got back from walking the dogs. The older pup just had surgery so she only takes one lap around the block and the Jack Russell can go two laps (or more, but I have to build myself up, too!). They had a great time! After I dropped Harley off at home, I took Daisy back out for her second lap and used it as a good training session as well. I was teaching her to walk beside me instead of choking herself by pulling at the collar. By the end, she was doing pretty well unless she was distracted by animals. I really enjoyed it and I’m definitely going to do it more often!
