Dealer woes...  — 2 days ago

On Sunday of this week something unexpected happened. My dad had been put on a waiting list for a blue 08 Ninja 250. Well they gave him a call and he asked me to head on down there with him to check it out. I had not as of yet seen the new 250 in person, because everywhere for months and months has been constantly sold out of them. Well this one was actually an 09, and I loved the new look and color. We, after careful consideration, decided that it would be a great starter bike and were going to purchase it jointly. It would be his backup bike and my main form of transportation.

When we sat down to talk figures with the gentlemen there, they quoted us a price that was much higher than either of us anticipated. It was for almost $3000 above MSRP. Yeah! That is almost double the cost. They claimed that since it was such a popular bike they had to do that. Lol! I understand that, but yikes. Maybe in a few months when the popularity goes down we could get two instead for that moeny (hehe). Anyway after trying to talk him down a bit and learning that they would not go down much further because they knew the bike would be sold by the end of the day at the high price we politely walked our separate ways. Even though I had no idea I was about to own a motorcycle that day, it still was kinda disheartening to spend so much time there thinking, debating, and working things out to find out that we were not going to get it.

Oh well, I guess that leaves me free to purchase the 05 Bonnie I have been eying, or save up and go for the Daytona :D.

sport bike yeahhhh  — 3 weeks ago

my friend brandon and i rode one of his friend’s cbr 1000s the other night and in third gear we were doin’ 135 and not even close to red lining it. my GOD at the adrenaline rush.

i know if i bought a 1000 anything i’d kill myself, so i think i’ll settle for something in the 500 – 650 range. the ‘08 graffiti black honda cbr’s are pure sex. too bad i can’t afford to pay ten grand for pure sex.

looks like i’ll have to buy used. =/

My Dream Bike :D  — 4 weeks ago

If I could have any motorcycle the first one on my list would be a Triumph Daytona 675…Ahhh, it is just perfectly awesome! I have been wanting one since they first came out. Though I am pretty sure my first bike will be a Ninja 250 or a Bonneville because they are great for learning on :) I got my motorcycle licence a few years ago though have not had much chance to ride since then and really need to start with something smaller than 675, hehe.

Finally!  — 1 month ago

A few weeks ago I finally bought my 2007 Ninja 250 with only 3000 miles on it! I already had my M1 license from two years ago, but I’m taking the MSF class again to brush up on my skills. Riding is every bit exhilerating as I remember it to be, and I’m finding myself looking for excuses to take the Ninja out.

A lot of people say that the Ninja 250 will bore a new rider quickly but I guess it’s based on your learning curve. It’s only been a few weeks but I’ve already found the limitations on the 250…the biggest one being highway riding. At 80mph in top gear I’m screaming at about 9000rpms and even a slight wind moves the bike from side to side.

The 250 is an excellent learning bike because it’s very forgiving when I make a mistake, but I’m sure next year I’ll have to upgrade to a 600 because highway riding is nerve-racking with so little power.

Endorsed!  — 1 month ago

This last weekend I completed the motorcycle saftey class and after sucessfully passing the MO state permit test, I am now the proud owner of a motorcycle endorsed drivers liscense… now (in 2 weeks when i get back to japan) comes the scary part of actually buying a bike and riding it on the road for the first time…

Buy a motorcycle  — 3 months ago

My current bf (who I’m not so sure will be gone before then) rides a bike and he looks so sexy on it. Thats a part of the appeal but other than that i hate paying for gas and i love motorcycles and ooooh i looove helmets…like you can be a mysterious bitch under a really cute helmet and stuff. Well anyways I’m still in the process of booking a motorcycle riding class for my best friend and i. He asks me everyday so by the time fall rolls around i’ll be riding my bike out.

It may be awhile before I can afford it, but...  — 4 months ago

It’s been over two years since I got my motorcycle endorsement and I still haven’t bought a bike. I still REALLY want one, but it’s been so long since I’ve been on one that it’s becoming more of a fear at this point. Perhaps when the time comes that I can afford a bike… I should take a little refresher course on riding. That would probably be the smart thing to do regardless of the fear.

I want to buy a motorcycle  — 4 months ago

I’ve always wanted to buy a motorcycle ever since I was a kid. I never really had the proper resolve to get it because everyone close to me is against it. Now that I have a stable job I’m determined to finally buy my first bike. I don’t want to get a loan to get this so I’m counting on my ability to save money to get this done.
