Promote the 'International Speak Like A Pirate Day' Ahoy! Me Mateys!

My friend Jodie turned me on to “International Speak Like a Pirate Day” last year. This year, it fell on her birthday, so I got her a pirate themed gift. A hat, eye patch, a sword that makes swooshing sounds, the whole shebang. It was a lot of fun… I highly recommend investing in some pirate accessories to get into the spirit!

Well I’ve come to understand the date has already been set. It’s officially Sept. 19th. Spread the worrrrd!

I’m putting it out there. Do you know what day is ‘international speak like a pirate day’? What day do you think it should be? should it be in Maaarrrch? Columbus day is October 9th, so if we had it October tenth that might make some sense but it doesn’t sound as good. But who says the date the holiday is on anyway. If you ask me it should be every friday. arrrrrrrrrrrr mati.

What day should ‘international speak like a pirate day’ be on? should it coincide with Columbus day? Maybe the day after?

I have no idea how I found this crazy goal but i’m glad I did. I’ve got pirate fever!

i was lucky enough to be on a soccer team that spoke pirate, as well as have friends that enjoyed ‘pirate-ing’ tourists in our hometown (it involves ‘arrrrr’-ing people while hanging out the window of a car)... i’ve since taken the holiday with me to college, and i will keep spreading the pirate bounty.
