Giving up for now 20 months ago

These days exercise is back in my life. I walk about one mile a day as part of my commute to work ;) so although will still love to swim and play different sports in future, not feeling the desperate need now.

I swam maybe…..........8 laps. Probably not even that much.
That crap is hard, especially once you’re already sore. I’ll swim again tomorrow morning after the commander’s call. Assuming I’m not exhausted by then.
Its alright, I gave myself a little while to be good at this.

jerk.
the dude I was supposed to take the lesson from today didn’t know why I was there. He said the master’s class was going on at time I showed up. (I was definitely there at the time he told me to come.) What’s nice is that I already paid for this class, and my schedule only allows me to go to about a third of the sessions.

I was too frustrated to try and explain this to the nice Portuguese man who teaches the swim classes. Damn language barrier.

I’ll go talk to people tomorrow, but this just isn’t the way I wanted this to work out. I’ve been anticipating swimming for so long.

I’m signed up for classes. They’re going to be a pain in the ass with my schedule, but the instructor said he’d work with me. He basically let me sign up for two classes and only pay for one.

tomorrow I go 21 months ago

Tomorrow I’m going to the YMCA to get a membership, because thats were the only indoor pools in the great town of Sumter. If I can make the classes, and they’re only about a month long, I’ll go to the adult swim classes this month.

We’ll see….



Not swimming yet, but 2 years ago

I started moving more. Walked for miles one day last week. Doing scores of leg lifts, push ups, arm rotations, whatever I can think of. The reward has been that 1. my underwear doesn’t hurt so much (from being waaay too tight. I refused to cop out by getting new underwear, because why remove the motivation?) 2. I’m sleeping through the night (and the snoring) a bit better and feeling more bubbly.
In my new place, will find a pool or live next to one. The dream I’ve held on to: Living in warm weather and swimming/dipping often. Yeah, it will come true.



I still look hot, but I want to be healthier. 2 years ago

I stay home pretty much all day, everyday – no lifting, no walking, no dancing, no building: no exercise. My muscles are turning into fat.
