Just convinced my friend to come with me on a road trip across the country to Houston! It is 1200 Mi one way :)

I want to plan a road trip that i will do on my own. I think that positive thinking will get me through these four years.
Josh ...and life just rolls on like a river.
I’ve wanting to take another trip out west. I used to go out there at least once a year for a few weeks with a friend of mine, but I haven’t made it out there as much as I like in recent years. So…
I’m going to plan a trip for this coming spring/early summer. I’ve been to California, but I’ve never made it to Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia National Parks. So I think I’m going to head out there. Should be a good time. I just gotta start reading up on hikes and such so I’ll know what I want to do once I get there!

I’ve known them since Junior high, we’ve been talking about it pretty much since then, there are tentitive plans maybe early next year to actually do it.
I think I’ll be heading toward the Pacific north west via one of the backroad northern routes (Great Northern or the Oregon Trail).
Time is coming up. I’ve scheduled time off from work May 1 – 18!
Last year I took a great road trip that was based on only a couple of premises:
1. I would visit Yosemite
2. I would travel primarily via Route 50 from Colorado to California
3. I would end my westword travel only when I hit the pacific ocean
4. I would not stay in hotels.
I would like to organize a trip of similar style, only without anything that requires reservations for a particular time (Yosemite did on the last trip). This must be a trip completely free of time constraints beyond the actual vacation time I take from work. It might include a general direction of travel, and maybe even an ultimate fuzzy destination, but no reservations.
