i’ve been wanting to do this forever

I definitely want to do this, raising a puppy would give someone in need such an amazing life. I adore dogs and this would be a challenge for me, that I cannot wait to complete.
Me and my husband are Americans living in Panama, Panama. Because of Diabetic Rethinopathy my husband became with low vision.
Here in Panama there is no programs that offert guide dogs for low vision and blind people, and we will like to start one in order to help ourselves and other individuals with similar handicap
Definately worth doing, I did it once and got addicted! 4 puppies later, I’m only stopping because I’m moving away. Yes, it’s hard to give them back, but seeing them in a guide dog harness at graduation and watching them guide a blind person is priceless :)
Rasing a puppy & seeing him off to be a guide dog is gut-wretching, but one of the best things I’ve ever done.
Anyone can do it, and it is the most rewarding thing on earth. Letting the dog go off to big school when you’ve been throug puppyhood with him/her is a wrench, but knowing that that little pup (now grown) is revolutionising someone’s life is something else.

“I live in Illinois. Can I still do this? I'd be willing to train a puppy for other disabilities as well.”
