So I am marking this goal as done, though I wish it could have gone on longer. It was the most amazing adventure on so many different levels. If given the opportunity, I would do it all over again.
This is the Rynek (Market Square) in Wroclaw very late in the evening. 3 days ago

One week from now, I’ll be done with work and heading to the airport. It has been a lot of fun planning this trip and I am very anxious to get underway. I’m also rather anxious to get done with work for a couple of weeks. This trip has me excited beyond belief. Part of this weekend will be dedicated to laundry and getting some things into my suitcase. 4 weeks ago

Amania was so very nice to send this travel booklet on the city where she lives and I will be staying. She said it will give me a better idea of the city. I’m looking forward to sitting down with a nice cup of coffee to read it. 3 months ago

For the last three weeks, I’ve been working diligently on this goal. Here are the steps that I’ve taken:
• Spent time on the web and bought the guidebook pictured coming up with ideas of what I would like to see
• Restarted examining my family heritage to think where I want to visit to explore my ancestry Details on this will be a whole separate entry
• Amania and I have had several discussions about things to see and logistics.
• Last night, I bought my plane ticket – I’ll be in in Poland on April 27th! 4 months ago

Several years ago, I researched the Irish side of my family’s heritage, culminating with a trip to Ireland to see the country and places where my family came from. My recent exploration into my mother’s family history has created a desire to go to Poland and see the places from which our ancestors came. This actually comprises about a third of my family heritage. I’ve begun to learn more about the country am working to find out more about the places from which they came and locate any possible records.
I am hoping to visit Poland sometime in 2013. This trip is more daunting than the trip to Ireland, mostly due to the language gap. Amania from this site has graciously offered to assist me and even host me. Also, I have begun to use Pimsleur audio recordings to learn the Polish language. There is so much I want to learn about and see. I feel this could be a great adventure. 8 months ago

So I am back from our short stay in Poznan! I liked the city very much and would love to go back in the future to explore more places, especially Krakkow and its area. The food is excellent, good priced and apparently it’s one of the very few countries in Europe who still have the freshest of fruits, vegetables and meats. We could feel the food quality was excellent. So I will definitely be back later on! 13 months ago

My friend has to go to Poland for some visa purpose, so I promised her I would go with her.
And we are doing a very short trip to Berlin and from there we will go by train to Poznan. As I saw the pictures, it looks really beautiful, the Old Market with those colorful houses is stunning! I will post a photo once I’m back! We have already booked the accommodation, we are staying in the Sheraton.
There are still a lot more places I want to see in Poland, especially Krakkow and it’s area and Wroclow, but that has to wait for another time. 13 months ago

I honestly have no idea. I would love to visit Krakkow and it’s area and Wroclow as well, but it would take many days to see it well and right now there are other priorities on my list. Maybe because it’s so close to Budapest so I feel that I can go there anytime I want.
So this goal won’t be completed for a while, for sure. 20 months ago
