How I did it: Basically going trough the stores in town: Zara, Stradivarius, Berska, Pull and Bear, New yorker.
My boyfriend's opinions that I looked so sexy in that dress encouraged me more and more. Read how I did it… 23 months ago
How I did it: I did this bit by bit. First, I asked myself why i wanted to be more girly. Took me a while, but I noticed that it was because I wanted to change to be a better person. I thought "I want to dress more feminine" was too big of a goal to achieve. So what I did was break it down a little. I decided to plan out what I wanted to do. I made a checklist. Ears pierced, mani and pedi, new clothes, ect. But, I didn't do this all on my own. I asked help from others too that were feminine for their advice. Eventually, it was three months and I started to dress feminine. Everyone was amazed when they all saw me again! I was sooo excited! Read how I did it… 2 years ago

I have now hit two sample sales in the past month and now have six new pairs of shoes! all very feminine shoes! I actually now need some cute new feminine clothes to go with my super cute shoes…...... So, with all the spending I may have to go back to my goodwill hunting and find some bargains. But, I am trying and making an effort. Last month I took a whole car load of old clothes to the thrift shop, so it does seem timely to replace the old with new stuff. Stuff that I like. I’m going to wear a dress and my new navy blue velvet wedges for thanksgiving dinner! 4 years ago
I am who I am. Concert tees and jeans…so what. I am deciding to think this is cool too. 4 years ago
three new bikinis, two new sundresses, one new mini skirt! am taking dresses and skirts on my trip this week. And my dress for the wedding sunday is too cute, with a sweet pearl necklace and earrings. Also, I wore mascara this week! I’m trying! 4 years ago
I just got cheered for my entry, “wore a dress on my birthday”. the thing is, I usually look pretty good when I dress up. But…......... I have some inner desire to be admired even when I am casual. I think that is my fantasy, to dress casual and still have everyone thinking I look amazing. But, it’s not gonna happen. I’m a girl that can dress up well, but look quite mundane at times as well. Also, my job, my work attire is not flattering…......... but what can i do? Change careers? I think my tom-boysihness is part of me being a physical therapist. well, I will be wearing a very cute and feminine dress August 19 to my mothers wedding. And I’m sure I will be very admired by all the over 60 crowd in attendance! 4 years ago
A little over a year ago, I had a sudden change of fashion awareness. I am not sure what exactly clicked it, but all of the sudden I wanted to be incredibly vintage woman. And so I did.
When I had an office job, I wore a skirt or dress every single day. My new job is walking dogs, so I just wear shorts or jeans or whatever. Whenever I have to ride my bike somewhere obviously I can’t dress up. BUT Whenever I go somewhere that doesn’t require my bike, I wear a skirt or dress and makeup. I enjoy it very much. I also have really gotten into Stockings! They are excellent and feminine and make your legs look fab! I’m a member on this website: www.stockingshq.com . It’s UK based because there aren’t any good stocking makers here in the US. It’s good prices and the community is great! 4 years ago
so, just to share a success with my 43thing’s family… I did wear a dress on my birthday. I enjoyed dressing up and looking nice. I also had fun red heels that matched. I’m trying to remember this as inspiration for the future, as my default is still jeans or yoga attire….... 4 years ago
I have been declared by my fiancee as being “a cheap skate”. and admittedly, I am the product of two tight-wad parents, both of them. I have shopped at goodwill for all of my work clothes for the past two years. And I usually only shop the sale racks…... I have made terrible decisions to buy things based on the price, not on whether or not I love the item. anyways, I’m just finishing a vacation with my mom and my aunt. My mom took me to goodwill, and yes, I did buy 6 new work shirts all for under 5$ each.
Then my aunt took me to the mall, and proceeded to influence me to be more feminine. I spent way more money than I was comfortable with, but I think it is time for me to be an adult, and to try to look nice. I got some cute clothes, not just work out clothes, which is what I normally buy and wear around the house. So here is to a new me, and to having more fun and shaking things up! 4 years ago
Does this count as more feminine. I have taken to wearing more lipstick and even curling my eyelashes. I think I am very close to checking this one off my list. 5 years ago
I would ideally like to wear things that show off my womanly form, instead of trying to hide it. I just feel so ugly sometimes that hiding in baggy manish clothes makes me feel so much more comfortable. I know this effects my work relationships and my lack of a sex life, but it is so hard. How does on get over the fear of not being acceptable? It is so confusing. 5 years ago
I bought myself a scoop neck and a v neck tshirt yesterday!
I’ve also been putting my hair up more and trying to feel ‘girlier’
It’s really helping with my self-esteem! 5 years ago
Lately I’ve been trying to work on this goal. I went shopping yesterday and bought some great summer clothes that are also much more girly than I’m used to!
I have a couple pairs of capri pants (baggy, not tight… I’m still not ready to squeeeeeeze my bum into pants for fashion), a few nice tshirts in colours other than black (light blue and light grey), and I even tried on some dresses and skirts… Though I’m not ready to take that step yet.
I also bought my first ever ponytail hairclip thingie, and it’s really cool! My boyfriend thinks it looks neat as well, so that’s good news.
I also treated myself to some cute girly undies. :)
So yeah, I’m improving! 5 years ago
As soon as I can stop picking my fingers then I can actually try painting my fingernails or something.
I’ve also decided to finally pierce my ears after I stop picking (as a reward).
Ideally I’d like to wear skirts or at least be comfortable in one! I have no will at all to wear high heels, and I never well. But I’d at least like to dress a bit more feminine… 5 years ago
