Well, sometime since I last posted, this goal officially became tied for first in terms of number of cheers.
I actually came on here and scrolled down to the bottom of my list to delete it today, in my attempt to revise my list, but I just CAN’T! I don’t normally keep track of cheers, or anything, but it just strikes me as so funny. :)
So until another one surpasses it, or until I just can’t bear to keep it here any longer, it’ll stay. Last place.

I have to admit, I’m ready to move this goal to the “give up” list, since I know I’ll never do it, and I’m trying to pare down my list.
But I can’t bring myself to move it, since I’ve gotten 14 cheers on it, which is the second-highest number of cheers for my whole list! This just cracks me up and for that reason alone, I’m leaving it where it is.

Saw a tv ad for hummer recently (I don’t normally watch tv, so I don’t know how common/recent these ads are).
Basically, a guy questions how much of a man he is because he bought some tofu. He rushes straight from the grocery store to the hummer dealer and drives off in a new hummer, and the tagline is “Restore your manhood.”
Ahh… lovely.
On the one hand, I had to laugh, in the hopes that the folks at hummer are not complete idiots, and are poking fun at themselves and their clients.
Don’t get me wrong, I still hate the monstrosities and question why anyone would drive one, but it’s heartening to consider that the people behind (the wheel and the making of) said monstrosity have, at very least, a sense of humour (in addition, of course, to a total lack of environmental responsibility or regard for anyone but themselves).
On the other hand, my cynical side suspects that not only is this really is a serious marketing ploy by hummer, but that it will WORK on some people… and it just makes me nothing but depressed.

Is it my imagination, or does Washington, DC have a way larger hummer population than other cities?
A couple of years ago, we drove into town to see a hockey game, and it seemed like they were everywhere I looked.

My husband was driving down 101, I was in the passenger seat. There was a hummer, right next to us. My husband turned to me and asked “isn’t that one of your goals? Go ahead and roll down the window and ask him.” But I was too chicken to taunt the driver of an assault vehicle while going 65 mph.

Whether it will happen or not is another story . . .

Yay! I can’t believe I got a cheer for this goal! But really, I think it’s so great, and funny, too! :)
