I know some of the basics and have been to Haiti twice on short term missions trips with my church working with orphans, school kids, and building a school/church. I love Haiti, the people, their culture, and Creole! I know only a little Kreyol but I want to know a lot more!
The coolest learning site i’ve seen is MyLanguageExchange.com
but before I can even do penpals (which is way before text chat or voice chat), I’ve got to learn the basics of creole grammar.
1. the article comes after the word. “the house” “la maison” “kay la”. Kay la.
2. I/you/he/she, we/you/they. mwen, ou, i/li. nou, ou, yo
I spent four years at University studying creole and still haven’t visited Haiti three years later. I can send information about where to buy textbooks etc. to those who are interested.
