We all fear death. But, we all are going to die. Nothing, and no one, lasts forever. The only antidote to that is to leave behind a legacy that lasts long after we are gone.
A legacy is more than just finding a home in the history books. Those books are filled with vile people. A legacy should be something you are remembered well for. Kids are a legacy. They in turn leave their own legacy. Books are a legacy. Some are better than others. Speeches can leave legacy. Public office obvioulsy can establish legacy. The possibilities are limitless.
I want to leave all these legacies – great kids that in turn are great human beings, published books of great stories, characters, and ideas.
Ideas, more than any other, leave behind the greatest of legacies. It may be the idea of democracy, or the wire whisk, but it ideas that change the world. Books and kids always play a role in that change.
