How I did it: I took tumbling classes and I spent an hour minimum every practice throwing back tucks by myself. It helps to start on a mat and every time you land lower the mat a little bit. Read how I did it… 3 years ago
How I did it: During cheerleading we had a tumbling instructor come in and help us with tumbling. He helped me get it! We practiced twice, once a week. And on the second week I got it! Read how I did it… 4 years ago
Its actually really easy. The problem most people have is just fear. If you try it on a trampoline or have someone spot you, its easier. 4 years ago
I’ve been cheering/tumbling for 4ish years and I can do a standing/running backhandspring and a runnning round off backhandspring tuck. But I can’t do a standing back tuck. Thats my goal. Any tips? 5 years ago
In the spirit of discardia
I’m removing this goal from my cluttered mind. After achieving my target weight, I’ll pick it back up when I can train with a pro. 5 years ago
I have my back handspring, my round-off back handspring, and I can do a back tuck on the trampoline. Now all I have to do is get it on the floor, without a spotter! 5 years ago
omg!!
i have been working on a tuck for 2 months now. its my first year as a cheerleader and im determined to get this down. i taught myself a backhandspring and everything else i know, but since i’ve done that it seems like everyone expects me to have a tuck like anyday now. i dont want to disapoint anyone so i have been working real hard. i can do a round-off tuck just not standing.
its alot harder.
but… im not going to give up i will keep working at it until i have it.
hopefully that will be before competion. 5 years ago
I’ve worked so hard on this. I have try outs on the 13th and 14th of April and I want to throw my standing tuck so bad. I have thrown it a couple of times by myself but I can’t stick the landing and I have no confidence about it. I only need a finger spot buts its sooooo mental! 6 years ago
I can do a back tuck in the pool. There easy.I practised,so now I can do one standing by the side of a pool.I stand on the edge of the pool and then I jumped and I landed in the pool.Awesome!I saw people doing it on a tramp so I thought:Maybe I could do it!Is it harder on the ground? 6 years ago
I used to get really mad because i would see other people do this but i couldn’t do this i know how to do a back-hand spring and running tuck but not standing. One night i saw this video showing how to do one and the next day i went outside and i tried it and i did it but i never give up! 6 years ago
I’m a cheerleader and have been working on my back tuck for what seems like forever. But it really probably has only been two years off and on. Now I am getting serious about doing it. I can do them alone on a trampoline, and I’ve gotten close to doing them alone on the floor but not quite yet. I think I have a problem with getting my feet underneath me. I can do a back handspring back tuck, but not a standing tuck. Gah. I need a miracle :) 6 years ago
I can do it by myself on a tramp, but I still want to be able to do it on the floor with out a spot. It’s all mental! I usually freak out if someone isn’t standing right by me. 6 years ago
I’m a gymnast; or used to be and got my first tuck when I was maybe 9. It’s cool because I can still do it really well. I encourage anyone to learn :) it also impresses people. but you should learn to do a roundoff back tuck before a standing. 6 years ago
So I was watching the guy on http://www.trickstechniques.com and got totally inspired. Not inspired to get in orange speedos and grow my hair out to Fabio status, but to do a standing back tuck. I was going out to learn yesterday, but my workout buddy wasn’t feeling it. So I ditched him, and got me a new spotter. We’re meeting tomorrow. Wish me luck! 6 years ago
