Early Life Dream 2 weeks ago

Groing up, building architectural designs and drawing them was a passion and the only thing that could releif any of my boredom or saddness. I left that dream over 12 years ago. There is is something always calling back to it but how after all this timeof not pursuing it.

I’ve applied to 5 technical universities, taken 9 drawing exams, awaiting 2 more. So far, the results aren’t even satisfactory. I’m still naively believing it’s a dream able to come true (along with a few more).

I just need to find out how I can make this happen.

That's what I've always wanted to... 19 months ago

...do with my life. I’ve been skipping a lot of the drawing classes recently (and I seem to keep skipping them) because of financial problems. But I promise I’m going to take my time drawing at least a little every single day from now to July 2009, when I’m going to have my exams. I WILL get accepted in the University of Architecture and Civil Engineering!

defiantly worth doing if its something you’re really interested in. its a full time commitment, so be prepared.

The best advice i can offer is to give it a shot. You’ll know after the first year if the program is your cup of tea or not, and you can always switch programs without losing too many credits.
Expect any architecture program to completely absorb your time. Be ready for long hours in the studio, juggling multiple classes with heavy workloads, a new affinity for coffee, and a new understanding for the term “constructive criticism”.
You will find out very quickly if it is right for you or not, because it has to be your passion in order to put up with the sacrifices. I’ve seen many a student ask the question “why am I doing this?” If you have to ask, then you probably should be studying something else…
