at the moment with these killer cats of mine.
Despite wearing bells and making noise they still manage to catch the odd bird, it would be unfair of me to put out a bird feeder and lure more poor unsuspecting birds into the Cats Vicinity.

We will have a Bird Feeder at the Onsite Caravan where there are no cats to disrupt the birds feeding, we have a resident pair of magpies and a Wattle bird that live near our van.

LunaNueva is counting down for the Geminid meteor shower
...but so much worth it!! I got a bird feeder in mid-spring, and have enjoyed our wing-visitors so, so much. They bring joy and music to our lives :)
Next year, I’d like to get a nicer one —or even build one— to attract different kinds of birds simultaneously. With this bird feeder, the kind of birds has generally been decided with the kind of birdseed we put out.
Currently, we have these little guys, and I have no idea what type of bird they are, just that they’re very tiny and they chirp a lot :)

After much seeking, I found a great birdfeed quite by chance at the markets on the weekend. Its made of terracotta ceramics and has a nice blue glaze swirl pattern on the roof. I have the bird feed and now just need to hang it! On the weekend we had 2 white cockatoos, a pair of grey & pink Galah’s and a pheasant in the yard.

I have found the most gorgeous bird feeder after much much looking but its $140.00 which is a tad on the expensive side. However its the only one I have seen that I actually like, so maybe as a reward to myself soon.

want to put this on a narrow arm out from one of the old palm trees and have a simple pulley system to be able to lower it down to the ground to refill. This way the birdies will be safe from our cat.

To make a bird feeder… I don’t know if I’ll use it though as I have two nasty cats, who are NOT friendly to birds and it would be like setting a trap for the poor birds….
Maybe this one needs to go on the “give up” pile, or maybe I’ll make the bird feeder I found a nice pattern for one, and then I’ll retire it… I’m still thinking on this one… I’ll be back!
