This year, my grades have really gone down. School has become harder but the main reason is that I haven’t studied much at all. But at least now I’m motivated to get good grades again. We had a test today (on the last day of school!) and I was able to make myself study and memorise everything. I forgot how much fun it is to learn.

How I did it: Study Study Study. I set short term goals to help achieve my long term goal of making good grades. I ended up with 4 As and 2 Bs. Having supportive friends, study groups, and a new library on campus helped! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I literally forfeited a social life for about 6 months: other than the usual Saturday night sitting around at my friends house. When everyone else drank, I restrained myself in order to retain the knowledge of the day; when everyone else hit the bong, I hit the smokes; when I felt isolated I went on forums and got active and motivated to keep it up. I listened during class... and fucked around a little too. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I worked my butt off and talked to people around me about how my courses were going. They helped me to keep motivated and look towards the end of the tunnel. Read how I did it…

Semester in a nutshell:
Art History – Did really well at the beginning and kind of lost it towards the end. Got a B.
Multimedia – My professor was a total douche. I got an 89 and he wouldn’t give me the point I needed to get an A. I redid my last project twice and then he finally gave me the point because I bugged him so much. So I got an A. He’s still a douche though.
Editorial Illustration – B. I could have possibly gotten an A but I was so frazzled at the end of the semester that I couldn’t bring myself to spend all the time redoing all my projects.
Adolescent Psychology – A!! I worked super hard for this grade. I did a bunch of extra credit and when that didn’t bring it up to an A, I studied my ass off to get the grades I needed on the last test and the final to get the A. It was kind of an amazing feeling.
Geology – C. It all went downhill after the first test. Just everything, even the lab which I had been doing so well in it. Turns out rock/mineral identification, though boring, is the easiest effing thing in the subject.
But overall a good semester. Best semester I’ve had since I transferred. So that’s something!
I got results for GCSE modules i did in January and I was very pleased to see i got an A in English and a B in ICT. I hope that my end result for ICT will be an A, I’m going to have to work on it. I still can’t get over the A in english seeing as I got a D in the mock!!
Need to keep working hard, the exams are getting scarily close…

My extra credit wasn’t enough to bump up my C, which was very disappointing.
Semester so far has been pretty decent! I didn’t do so well on my first adolescent psych test but there is a TON of extra credit opportunities that I am going to take advantage of. And I totally did AWESOME on my first geology test! I got an 88 and the class average was around a 71! I feel super smart. The only test I don’t know how I did on was art history and I should find out some time next week. I feel really great about the multiple choice part of the test but not the essay. And I’m not sure how I’ve done on my current art projects, I’m supposed to find out about one of them next week.
Hopefully this will be a good semester and I’ll get mostly A’s! I’m shooting for A’s but B’s would be okay.
I am crossing this one off. I did fairly well, better in some of my classes then I thought I would, and one of my teachers recently changed my incomplete/F to a B+, which I am super excited about! Just have to do well on the CLEP test!
i got back my chem test today and i got 9/22. failed it. terribly.
i started studying for the test about 2 weeks ahead, and spent the whole afternoon the day before to revise on all concepts, and yet i still failed it. i see some of my friends, who used to do worst than me, doing better than me for this test. i pay attention in class, i complete assignments on time, why does this happen to me then?
sometimes i wonder if my studying method is incorrect; spending too much time on trivial things instead of practising things that are more impt. or maybe i spend too much time brooding over such failures of mine and not bouncing back fast enough.
i feel sorry for my teachers actl, i think they expect more from me, just like i do. i’m getting really unmotivated now. things just dont seem to matter anymore now. effort doesnt seem equivalent to results.
sigh, if that’s really true for my case, all i can do is to just keep working harder.
strive on!!!!!

im 99.99 percent sure i got an A in my psych. 101 class!!!

english 103
sociology 1
photography 46 (2 years so its: photo10, photo7, photo46, photo 21)
and forensics speech 2
14 units baby!lol
i dont know what spurred me to take part in the current affairs quiz too, but it is too late now, and i am only left with one choice: read all newspaper from the last … 6 months? in less than 3 weeks.
sometimes i regret not building up my foundation and trying to bridge the gap only now. been slacking lately, surfing the net and doing things which i shouldn’t be doing.
i’m graduating from school this year, i want to get into a prestigious uni too. i dont wish to be left behind, behind all my friends and classmates.
they tell me i’m good sometimes, but i dont believe it, i’ve got all Cs and Ds. marks may be relative, but my efforts should not decline due to this reason alone.
:) go on!!! i MUST make it!!

“I lack serious motivation for school nowadays. College is right around the corner, and I thought I was going in for nursing, but applied as undecided. I don't see a future in front of me. I don't do homework and could care less about grades. Help?”
