I had my credit card paid off for a little while, but recently ran up about $100 on it. I hope to pay it off this month.
We are behind on our mortgage by 1 month. We have stayed 1 pmt. behind fairly consistently. I worry about this because it ruins our credit score. My dear spouse talks about calling the mortgage company, yet has not talked to anyone.
We are eating beans for dinner at least three times a week now and going to the grocery store about every other week. No one is going hungry, but the food here is definitely not exciting or gourmet. It IS healthy and it IS affordable and it DOES meet our needs, and for now, that is enough.
I am hoping that our income increases soon. We really need it.

I ran up a credit card a few months back when times were tight. It will be paid off next month.
After that, a few medical bills will be attacked!
Then, perhaps savings will finally happen. :-)

Something hanging over our heads since the move was the purchase of a new fridge, which we had to put on credit (gasp!). I am happy to report this bill is now PAID OFF IN FULL and we once again owe ZILCH on the credit cards. Now to continue with the last car loan. We are planning on selling our set of washer and dryer (we now have 2) along with a few things in the coming month or so, and using that money towards continuing to knock down the remaining debt!!

I suppose all things that are truly worthwhile have their difficulties, and as such is the case I must be resolute and stick with this ideal until it is realized as the alternative really isn’t a choice at all…

After my university fees are paid/written off I’m quite confident I can keep this up.

And God bless my wife for all she has had to put up with in my lack of direction, common sense and fiscal responsibility. Oh, to be free from the burden of so much self imposed debt. To be free from the tyranny of worry and from being sick to death of my own financial short sightedness. It is in and of itself a form of amnesia you see. Because we spenders have brief periods in our lives where we realize what we are doing to ourselves and those we love the most, and yet we MUST buy this thing or that or we wont be able to sleep and happiness will never be ours again, and if we can buy the thing we have our eye on today and not have to pay for it until tomorrow, well, it makes the prize all the sweeter, all the faster!!! And isnt that what it really all comes down to, immediate gratification? This most American of ideals, where there is no logic strong enough, no responsibility great enough, no force on earth that can make me WANT to put it back on the shelf and wait for the day that I can truly afford my moment of pleasure! Well I have begun this one my friends and it feels like a thousand pounds are lifted off of my shoulders just to know that the mountain I have yet to climb, will at least not be growing any more while Im climbing!!!

We are so close to another step with this one, but need to make a budget which is our major weakness.
Still to pay off:
car #1 (almost there, less than $500 left)
car #2 (this one we need to get it down next since the loan is higher than the worth of the car)
piano
2nd mortgage
Student loans
House

Car debt is toast come Jan 1. We will find a way!!!! Then that dedicated amount will be moved over to tackle car #2. We will actually OWN our car!!! Haven’t owned one since my very first car, which I worked like mad to pay off only to marry into debt and some bad advice. DH has now seen the light. YES!!!
