After three 3-point matches on FIBS (and three losses) my rating is
1444.54 Exp 9 (from 1500)
Really should brush up on some book work as well. I’ll be happy if I start to win more against my regular backgammon buddy. There’s also the Scottish bg meet-up in May; I got third place last time, and it’s hard to see anyone beating Steve W, but I need to do better this time.

Played my first 3 point match at FIBS, and lost, but at least I should be able to get in lots of practice whenever I feel like it from now onwards.

Specifically handle cube decisions better. For some time now I have always accepted the cube even in situations where I feel I should drop. To me this means situations where I’m behind and where there is little play left. It’s foolish of me and I’m not sure what drives this behaviour (well we’re not gambling so there is no financial penalty). I lose matches quickly and this is beginning to annoy me.
So I’m going to try to read up on cube handling.
