    Married my Best Friend: my Beloved Hobbit 4 years ago

    One date. Its all it took. One Date, eight years ago. We knew.

    What have I learned since then?

    • Take the time to ‘pet’ your Loved Ones: Tickle their hair on their arms, caress their skin, smell behind their ears. Writhe joyfully in their embrace.
    • Never stop saying, “I love you” whenever you feel it.
    • Remember: to laugh at yourself; to apologize; to behave to WIN -not the argument, but that Love & Respect is the best outcome. Everything else is bullshit.
    • Remember: wherever you think you’re going in Life, you’ll always need concensus. Remember WHY you do what you do… and make sure you do it for the RIGHT reasons. Keep in touch on your Life’s Issues.
    • Remember: Love lingers with someone who demonstrates the Beauty in your Life. Who can continue to Love their harshest critic? Your Harshest Critic should be yourself, not your Loved One. Live to BECOME the person you want to be… which is the most your Lover can ask of you. Your Lover has to love you & the person you’re trying to be… & accept the best you can manage. They should encourage your best efforts & encourage the best from you.
    • You live the Love you give.
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      I’m trying.
      Every day, my Husband & I take a moment before sleep to thank each other for being together & for helping each other to become the person we want to be.
    The Key 4 years ago
    My sister-in-law recently asked us what the key to a successful marriage was. I firmly believe that The Key is not sharing a hobby, eating dinner together every evening or making sure that no one goes to bed angry (although these things undoubtedly help!).... I believe that The Key lies in choosing the right person, at the right time, for the right reasons.
