i want to take drawing clases since a long time ago

Finally took that class...  — 1 month ago

    Worth doing!

Actually took it in the Fall of ‘06 and it was a lot of fun. Gave me some more insight on how to improve my drawing, but it was VERY time consuming. I’m lucky my other courses at the time weren’t nearly as demanding as usual. Even if you can’t draw squat, I think it’s worth doing.

i love to draw...  — 3 months ago

but i suck at it. I really want to learn.

I need to take a basic drawing class to enhance my painting. I need to do more things like this to put my focus on.

That was fun :)  — 7 months ago

    Worth doing!

Well, sometimes it got boring actually. I just don’t like drawing still lifes! It doesn’t hold my interest. I want to draw imaginative things. I understand to be able to do that, I have to know how to draw from life first though. So that’s fine. Next up, practice and practice some more. I should draw something every day! If I can find the time.

The instructor says I should be fine moving on to painting now, so that’s what I’m gonna do. Oils! Starts right after the new year. :)

    Worth doing!

This is just practice, drawing in a style I like. Have no idea what style that is. I think this is illustrative drawing? This is a girl from an Amy Sol painting; I just replicated her here. She has her body sort of twisted and is looking sideways, so I was practicing something other than a straight-ahead view. I got her shoulders too angular and broad, but it’s pretty close.

Oh, and I learned how to cut mats last night  — 7 months ago

    Worth doing!

That’s what math class was for, I guess. :) So now I have my first matted work ready to frame. It’s too big to scan and post here, but trust me, I wouldn’t pay 25 cents for it! :D

So I have one more class left, and then I think I’ll take painting.

Where you shade the entire paper with a charcoal stick and then use the eraser to start showing the light areas on your subject? Yeah, well that looked like hell! I was really skeptical of the whole process. But it started looking better when we used a charcoal pencil to start outlining the shape. Charcoal is messy! But fast! And that I like. I don’t have the attention span for the other drawing we’re doing. I just start saying fuck it and rushing through it and messing it up. Can you develop ADD as an adult? I wonder sometimes if I have.
