Unfortunately the first home game isn’t for a number of weeks… but getting sooner every day. My brother gave me 4 free passes to our local Tourists (I am not kidding) who are in the SALLY league. (South Atlantic League) It is the team Cosner’s character Crash transfers to after leaving Durham in Bull Durham. Baseball is so full of trivia. 6 years ago

But when I need a baseball fix, I watch a baseball flick. The flick for this week is BULL DURHAM. Hot, steamy. Hard to believe that Cosner isn’t a former pro league catcher. There is also the bonus of seeing a cameo of the Clown Prince of Baseball, the late Max Patkin. The movie is especially dear to me, as some of it was filmed in Asheville… my home town. 6 years ago

Our season in Asheville was short this year, but still. One ball game is better than none, and my goal is simply, go to the ballgame once a summer. I love being in the park. It is a treat. Once a year keeps it a treat too. 6 years ago
