How I did it: I'd been a tutor at the college I attended and I'd assisted in other people's classes. One of the instructors wanted to move on to a new subject, something more advanced, so I took over his class at the encouragement of him and others. I was not good at it. I only officially taught for two semesters, but I ket trying for two years. I failed miserably.I sincerely and whole heartedly believe that the ability to teach is a gift; a gift… Read how I did it…

How I did it: I volunteered to teach collage at a senior center. I found that there really wasn't much to teach- Rather, the students just need a time and place to do it.The freebe experience led me to a paid position. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I have been teaching a class for almost a year now, and it has been a great experience. It has its ups and downs, and right now its at a major down. I am thinking of quitting. This class for me has been a labor of love, but it feels like I am not getting anything back from it. I think the class has been successful, despite the problems I have had with it. At this point I dont know if continuing would be worth it or not. Read how I did it…

I love teaching. However I’m not a teacher (not yet at least). I have been teaching private lessons in economics and book-keeping recently and I enjoyed it very much (and getting paid for it is a bonus). Therefore I sent my CV to my old high school 1 or 2 months ago to check if they had an opening next fall. Today I got a call from the head teacher in the math department and he wanted to see if I was still interested in a full-time job in September. However, since I have decided to go for a masters degree at that time I had to say NO…
It made my really sad to have to turn down this offer :( but it also made me realise how much I really would like to try to teach for a year and see how I like it. So someday I will hopefully get a second chance to do this!
I try and teach all the time, helping people, giving information and instruction…but in order to be a teacher at the level I want to be, I have to finish my Bachelors of Fine Arts and get a Masters of Fine Arts – I’m already 45 years old and the options I have for Grad school are limited. I suppose there are other options, teaching at community centers and local clay centers, but I’d really love to do it at the college level. Then again, do I really want all the hassle and red tape that come with that? Sure is something that requires a lot of thought – i feel like I’ve been thinking about it for years, but the answer is illusive.
I got into the program now I just have to decide if this is the right time in my life to do this.
I can’t believe that after two years I’m still looking at this goal and thinking “someday.” I applied for the Master’s teaching program at ASU and will find out very soon if I got in or not.

Collage Classes Two series of classes…Worth it but nothing I wish to fully pursue, though I’d consider doing it again. I find myself doing stand up during the teaching…
i’ve been teaching temporarily for a few years during my vacation. now that i’ve finished my masters, i’m now starting on my one year post-grad dip specializing in education. having previously worked at another govt. organization, i keep getting nervous about teaching. i love teaching the kids and i love the subject, but i keep hearing so many horror stories together with people telling me that i’m crazy to have signed on to be a teacher. but i love teaching! is it that crazy?
while there is a lot of paperwork to be expected, i’m hoping that the intangible benefit that includes making a serious difference in someone’s life will be a huge pay-off. nobody said it’s going to be an easy ride, but i’m sure it’s going to be a ride worth taking.
i’m going to teach, and i’m going to do it good. fingers crossed
