write 100 poems

Ninety-eight to go. I’m doing the infamous “100 Themes Challenge” from deviantart, for inspiration ‘n stuffs.

99 poem written over the ears (not sure how many) just 1 little poem to go! Not feeling inspirational at the minute so I’m not going to write any just so I can get the goal complete! I’d like to set myself some writing challenges, so I write more. Anybody any ideas??

omgosh, it taking me forever to get to 100, but im not going to rush myself or force myself to write a poem, cuz thats not a proper poem. just 6 more to go anyway.

It’s not my bag, baby.

It’s probably true that practice makes perfect, hence the only way to become a good poet is to be productive as one is still learning … I’ve been writing poetry occasionally for about two years, having written about 35 poems during this period … so, 65 left to go! I have always written in free verse, but maybe when I finish this task, I will try to make 100 in strict, traditional forms too.

I wrote them as a response to someone else’s haikus here on 43things. Gosh this place is inspiring. :)

My first conscious thought on waking
was of you
and I smiled in the dark, stretched
instead of hitting snooze three times,
rose for the routine
that brings you near.

People can be so mean when reviewing your work. Maybe I’ll do like some of the other people with this goal and not post the poems here. That would certainly ratchet the stress level down a notch. Here’s a silly haiku I wrote at work just for fun.

Like stupid fire ants,
many customers arrive.
Julie: “Please God, no!”

number 84. Wrote another 2. Tried to write more but nothing came to me.

I’m on number 82. man, i’m really struggling to write nowadays. I have no idea why. I just write when I feel like it now, which isn’t that often. I wrote one tonight, just popped into my head. I’m not giving up on this goal though, even if it takes me ages to complete it i will have it on my list :)
