My book, YARD SALE, has found a home! I have just confirmed a publishing deal for this wonderful poetry collection with Shady Lane Press. Yay!

I have been trying to write a book or really just about anything for the past few years and seem to wind up at a dead end like there is something missing but I can’t figure it out. I try to relax and unwind and let things go instead of building up but when I get here I forget everything that i want to put down. A dam of blank thoughts just come in streams and i have nothing to jump over them with.
I’ve put myself on a three-week course to free my writing block. It involves a certain amount of self-dicipline and lots of courage to fail!
I’ve heard it said that everyone has at least one book in them. From my experience, most people should keep it in them. There’s a whole world of poorly-executed self published books out there cluttering up landfills. I don’t want mine to be one of those. I’ve just completed a three month writing residency and wrote almost nothing! Now is the time to decide – why would I want to spend all that effort and energy to write a book? I am exploring what my motives are. I know I was graced with a natural literary talent, I just have to decide how I want to use it.
Ironically Zen is sailing
“I am irritated by my own writing. I am like a violinist whose ear is true, but whose fingers refuse to reproduce precisely the sound he hears within. ”
(Gustave Flaubert)
