Leesees is disgusted and wants the cast off
I was born in America. My mom and dad were both born in America. Their parents, however, were born in Poland. I would love to someday see their hometowns in Poland – to see if I have any relatives in Poland. My mom and dad have both visited Poland. My brother lived there for 4 years. The pictures I have seen are absolutely amazing. It is my dream to someday go there, travel around the country, visiting the cities, taking in the culture and traditions long abandoned and forgotten.

...and she talked to another family member who is going over in October. Cousin said that she’d love to help me. Now all I have to do is call her!

I lived in the south of Poland for 3 years…it is a great place. i lived in Katowice which is not much to write home about but the people there are nice once you get to know them and katowice is very good for travel connections…45 mins or so by train from krakow and also near things like Auschitz. I also love the Beskidy mountains in the south….spent many days walking in those beautiful mountains:) Zakopane is well worth the effort:)

Budget lots of time for Birkenau/Auschwitz. So much to see at the camps. And you can walk from one to the other if you’re the adventurous sort.

I still have distant relatives in Poland. And I think I’ll be visiting Europe next year, so I’d like to meet them.
The only problem is that I don’t speak Polish AT ALL. Only French and English. :(

Make sure you go to Zakopane, Krakow (visit the cellars and the Kosciol Mariacka) and Birkenau/Auschwitz. It’s very very inexpensive, and everywhere you go, people are so incredibly friendly, and ever so willing to give you their time.
