I’ve seen the sunset but never sunrise. It’d be a plus if I see it with someone special.

Having worked the nightshift in a call center for US customers, I had gotten the dubious priviledge of watching the sunrise on my lunch break. Good thing the cafeteria has windows to the east side of the building. Other people quickly draw the shade as if they had become vampires, but not me. I get a table near the windows, shades up. It’s an experience that is beautiful and ageless, like a link between me and my forefathers who must have gazed at the same sun in ages forgotten.
Then I realize that the food I am eating has been grown with sunlight or had been fed plants grown from light from that same luminuous object appearing just over the citiscape. I am never much of a religious person, but I have become grateful.
