Week 16 - Lost 33 lbs and Sugar Fast Now 98! 13 months ago

Hi All, I now have new test strips, so I can test more, again! I am down now after 16 weeks 33 lbs and from eating good for my sugar, now in the morning the reading was 98 today! I know it is much lower during the rest of the day! Everything I eat, I eat with my sugar numbers in mind. I do not cheat because I need to get them under 100 and to STAY there! I am on no Med’s and I do walk everyday.

Week 10 - Fasting Saturday Sugar 103! 15 months ago

I have not been eating ANYTHING for past 10 weeks that would really affect my sugar. The items I am eating, I find that I am very satisfied and don’t need any sugary extra things. My sugar the rest of the time I know is much lower than the 103.

Week 8 - Saturday 15 months ago

Sugar 115 Still would like it showing under 100 in the morning, but this is ok for a Diabetic especially on no meds! I have been eating more carbs a day than I ever thought I could and keeping my sugar down! I have peanut butter crackers now each day. The shakes are gone, but they hav 26 carbs which was almost all I would eat a day (30) I am happy with where I am. I don’t crave any bad foods, but the meals I eat.

Week 6 - Saturday 16 months ago

Count was 110 this morning. Not bad. I would like to see that reading under 100, but I know it takes a little time, and I have had real Pepsi and some crackers. I know the rest of the day I am going low because I run out of energy and get weak; too weak to do anything for that moment until I get the carbs in me. I am going to have to make sure I do breakfast. I am waking up low and without eating until lunch, I am now going too low. I found the Pepsi and crackers 67 carb at one time is not hurting me. Did not take count 2 hrs after but it is going down fast. So, I learned I can eat more carbs at one time. I am doing better than ok!

Week 6 - Thursday 16 months ago

Ok, must be getting low readings in the morning. (not actually reading running out of strips right now, but I can pretty much figure what is going on if things are normal) But, around 11 AM I had been shredding for almost 2 hours at work and all that movement and exercise really wore me out. I found when I sat down after I was real weak, and light headed and it got worse. I was like a wet blanket. I think what happened with low sugar in the morning..and I did not eat breakfast..I have been trying to burn out the sugar and it usually highest at this time. Well, I think I just went down too low for me and not used to that feeling. The Dr says I will never go too low because my own liver will kick in and make what I am missing, but it is hard on your system for it to do that. So, I walked to get the real Pepsi for some quick sugar and ate the chedder peanut butter crackers. I only slightly improved, and then I told friends what was happening. I was so weak. It took almost an hour and then it was like someone switched something on and I felt good again and that bad feeling was gone. At lunch I had a Checkers BLT I toss out the bottom bread for .99 it is more than enough. Only bread I have eaten in 6 weeks and I try not to even eat all the top piece..it is just not worth the carbs and calories. Did good the rest of the day.

Week 6 - Wednesday 16 months ago

I ate odd at lunch.. it was raining and could not go out to get food, so I had a real Pepsi and a pack of 8 chedder peanut butter crackers!! Calories 450 and the Total Carbs 67 !!!!!!!!!!! more than I should eat in two days! I took my sugar after work. I wanted to see if it went back to normal. It was 85! It does not get much better than that! I am doing good, and my system must be getting used to being like normal..because it does go right now like it should. I learned that I can have more carbs, but I know I cannot do that everyday or it will creep up again.

Week 5 - Sat Morning 125 16 months ago

Ok, it was up from last week. The afternoon number is doing ok and the after eating numbers seem to be ok. But got to get this morning one down. It has to be the Pepsis.. I have not given them up and they are the ONLY carbs I am eating. Seriously the only carbs. Three in one day is doing too much too me, and I know it. Actually they are too sweet, it is all habit..a Bad habit. Well, I know the problem..now to do something about it.. It is just that it is giving up the last of the REAL sweets.. I am doing good in every other area. hmmm this is a mind type of thing to get over. I want that number under 100…

Week 5 - I arrived..today I am not Diabetic..(kind of) 16 months ago

I took my sugar when I got home today and it was 88!!!

When ya think I was over 200 almost everyday, that in just 4 1/2 weeks I am in normal range and I eat lots of good stuff. I just can’t eat the breads, milks, fruits, and real sugary stuff. I have been having one to 3 real Pepies a day. And it is going back to normal with in the 2 hr time frame, like it should.

I know if I eat good, the number will be good. Now to be good 24 hrs a day ..and then day after day, so the A1C test will be around 6.0 Time will tell!

Week 4 - GOING DOWN! 16 months ago

106 This morning! Woo Hoo!!! It is almost under 100. Of course we all know the morning test is usually the highest and closest to a Fast Test we can do. I don’t have a lot of test strips or I would know what it is doing through out the day. But, if good in the morning and I do not eat anything bad..fruit, breads, milk etc then I know it is not going to go up! Today I got asked out to a huge all you can eat buffet. It is one of very good food, I can eat in quanity and still keep the number down, but it only takes a bit or two of the wrong food to make the numbers go up. I wish I did not have to go, but I do. So wish me good luck picking the right foods! Hope all of you are working on your numbers! Keep them down!

3 Week - Still Working On It! 16 months ago

Ok, was 128 on Saturday morning. I forgot to take it after work yesterday. I find that if the morning number is low or where it should be..and it should be under 100, that the rest of the day Can be..doesn’t me I will keep it that way, but it Can be under control.

I am doing Very Good, but I have not given up the Pepsie. I have tried to have one a day at work, but I will confess that I had THREE yesterday and one at bedtime which I am sure is why it was high today or else it would have shown it was going down. I need to cut them out too. I am eating no fruit, or breads. Until I get the numbers under 100..I can’t add them back in my diet. I call it burning out the sugar that I have got. The weight is going down too.

I got out of going out to eat last night. Can’t do that right now. When numbers good I can eat like normal..within reason.
