tear out my nasty carpet and put in hardwood floors (bamboo?)

Sucky installation work by Empire Today, but the new stuff is pretty cushy. I’m ready to call it good on this goal.

It’s pretty steep (6Kish!) but as an investment in improving my condo I think it’s worth it. The only thing that’s still bugging me is getting nickled and dimed on extras “Adding $75 because it’s a condo”? ”$25 per piece” for those strips that level the threshold. $400 for new baseboard trip because they have to leave a gap for expansion. I have a niggling feeling that I’m being taken. After all it’s less than 600 square feet. Realizing as I type that I should get at least one more bid – and then go for it!
