Weird at first, because they’re definitely thicker than plastic ones. After a bit of wearing, the central pad bit shapes to your body. The pad doesn’t stick to your skin, like plastic ones, it doesn’t SMELL like plastic ones (I REALLY hate that awful old blood and sweat stench that just doesn’t seem to go away no matter how often I shower) and because it’s longer, it feels way more comfy in bed.
PLUS I really get a kick out of the fact it’s MUCH better for the environment, and the cheerful fabric makes me happy.

I've re-opened this option 2 years ago

Because I’m at home alot of the time these days… and doing lots of sewing! I found myself looking consideringly at my old towels the other day… so may as well stick it on the list before I go and make some.

I really REALLY want to do this 3 years ago

But right now I just don’t have the time and money and mental resources to put into it – there are lots of other things calling my attention.
So, so long to this goal – I think we’ll meet again.

I’ve wanted to do this for years, but never got up the guts.
I realise this is not a goal for the squeamish, but think of the benefits!;

1) You save at least $10 every two months
2) You cut down on all the unnecessary landfill our current culture is creating
3) You don’t have sweaty-between-the-legs-because-I’m-wearing-a-phonebook-made-of-plastic feelings
4) The soak water is full of nutrients that will make your plants go absolutely INSANE with gratitude
5) You can make choices other than girly floral blue or girly floral pink!
