"MOM, CAN I BORROW TEN DOLLARS?" 5 months ago

I despise saying that. With a burning passion. I got my own place a little over a month ago, and I ALMOST borrowed money from my mom just so I could pay my bills. But somehow, everything worked out, and I didn’t have to. But if she wasn’t donating food to me every so often, I’d definitely not have as much food as I have. She’s so caring, and always willing to provide for her children. I’d like to one day be able to be completely independent, but also give back to her what she’s given me over the years, including the past month and a half since I left her home. Every week has been stressful because after getting groceries, gas, and daycare expenses, I fret over whether or not I’m going to have enough money by the end of the month. Butttt, I’m watching my p’s and q’s every so closely and doing everything I can to have ends meet. I think though, by the end of next month, I’ll have everything worked out to where I just might be able to start saving! I’ve got my fingers crossed. :)

My flash of awareness yesterday 6 months ago

about doing what I love and the money will follow has me on a high even though I am still struggling financially. Mentally I am keeping myself down thinking things can’t change quickly but then tell lottery winners that and you know this is a false belief.

So today I am manifesting prosperity thinking. :)

I'm getting off the fence~ 6 months ago

For the first time in years I am putting all of my eggs in my basket. I think part of my failure to have financial security is I have spread my time between 2 or more endeavors, mostly working for other people part-time.

My friend that owns the local antique store is looking for someone part-time this summer, mostly weekends. I have worked weekends the past 2 summers here in the wilderness for others and hated every second of it. So I am passing on that security to put 1000% into my niche business and my e-bay company.

I am a little queasy getting down off of the fence but I can’t stay up there forever.

Yesterday cold calling went well 6 months ago

I have 2 solid appointments this week. Then today I woke up totally paralyzed in fear for no apparent reason.

I was doing avoidance busy work this morning until the water department guy knocked on my door. Seems he had a work order to turn off my water but if I paid it by 1:30 he wouldn’t come back today. Luckily they take payments by phone.

In another time I would have been upset all day because of that visit. Today I look at it as just a simple reminder to keep focused on my goal. ;)

Cold calling for my niche business 6 months ago

is harder than calling for donations for my favorite causes. I didn’t realize how much I dislike dialing for dollars for myself. I excel at ways and means for organizations and fund-raising for charities so this shouldn’t be so hard.

If I ever want to be financially secure I will have to overcome this fear of rejection.

My real estate business has morphed 7 months ago

into another business that has potential to make excellent cash flow and may even grow to be a well respected employer for others very quickly. No it is not an MLM. It is a real business. I have nothing against MLM’s. I just have never been successful with them.

I do have someone who believes in me and has given me seed money to get the software and other business items I need for a low interest rate. Unlike others who I have been in business with he doesn’t even want a part of the business. He just wants to see me succeed. :)

This is a challenge for most of us these days 8 months ago

However, here in the wilderness they believe in cheap wages for everyone. The people with money either moved here with it and opened a business or live here part time and make their money elsewhere.

We are not talking about alot of people or competition here. There are more people in Fort Worth Texas than the whole entire state of Montana. Montana is the 4th largest state in the USA.

I was born and raised here so I know it well. The reason I left so many years ago was that the economic realities here did not encourage growth. That has changed some but hasn’t caught up with the stronger economic states. I had to go away to change my mind set.

Yesterday I had another conversation with a friend who suggested if anyone would hire me to take it. Ascalmly as I could I explained to him that the low wages keeps people just over broke.

I have been here 2 years…had 4 jobs that ended due to the economy and have been on unemployment both winters. Yikes! At my age I cannot depend on working for others for my financial security.

Seems I have never been able to do that….

    plan. 13 months ago

my plan for financial security involves:

paying off ALL debt [this will take some time, especially since i want to go to school.]

a checking account for spending.. this is where i will keep the money i need for basic bills and necessities.

short term savings.. where i will save up for a house, car, etc.

long term savings.. where i will save large sums of money.

i’d also like to get involved in the stock market someday [certainly not right now with the recession] and put some away in CDs.

it might be helpful for me to take some workshops or read books on becoming financially independent.

    $I hate money$ 15 months ago

I’m sick of worrying about money. I work two jobs just to barely make it by (and I go to school and i’m a single mother). Wish it wasn’t so hard. I would love to just never have to think about money or bills again.
