Yesterday I went to a bridal shop and fell in love from the first sight with this beautiful dress, when I tried it, I loved it more! It’s the most beautiful dress I ever seen. I’m so thankful to this barely credible designer :P
Can’t wait for the prom to wear it!!!

I found only 5 of the photos. t My freshman year the first formal dance was called a Sadie Hawkins. I really did not know what exactly that was. When girls started asking me if I had asked my bf to it yet. I was totally confused? I did not have the money to pay for it ( I was only 14 & my mom would give me only $2 or $3 to go to the mall or beach and I had to pay for the bus with it too) or for the dress even? It was very close to the time of the dance and I apologized to him for not knowing what to do. He said it was ok :) He was a shy punker so I’m sure he was no all that disappointed.
Later my Wonderful Nonna went to this sale at a fancy dept store an bought all of these formal dresses. I would not have picked them out for myself but she was so awesome to do that that each year I did my best to try and wear a different one. The yellow one with the sheer shall was with McCheerleader( he did it to meet girls & I was in drill team so I worked LOL) and the prom was held at the wax museum. We also got out photo taken with King Kong!!
The next one I made myself. It was a Vogue pattern and so so hard. I only had one semester of sewing so I was way over my head. I even drove to another city to Kathy’s Aunt’s house to have her help me and she was at a loss. I did finally figure it out!! The next year one of the girls had her mom make the same dress in different color. :)
I did not have the boobs to keep this Lavender GWTW dress up but it was the last of my backstock of gowns. McPunk made a cute Rhett.
I got this plain white dress on clearance after prom season. I was learning the art of bargain shopping(Thanks Nonna) In order to jazz it up I made this bolero jacket in crushed red velvet. I did not cost much because it was so tiny. I think McPunk had just watched A Clockwork Orange?
This last photo I had moved out from my mom’s a was living at McPunk’s parents house. They had 6 kids and even then I had my own room for the first time. McPunk had graduated the year before and was working full time.
He is wearing his tux but with his Leather Jacket. He did not care what the school thought ;) I borrowed Kathy’s black dress form the year before and Berta’s black fingerless gloves. I picked up the jacket on clearance at the mall for $8. I still have it in the kids dress up clothes.
I went back to my mom’s to get all of my prom dresses on day and my mom had tossed them out. She said,”They were taking up too much room in the closet.”
It sucks when you have a alcoholic mom who is envious of you. I still have my photos and I have a hard time tossing out stuff.

I found a really pretty blue dress at a bridal shop near my house. It was long and had a crossed strap back. It looked pretty good cause blue matches my eye colour. It was only $150 which is a lot less than most of my friends spent on dresses. :D
