I haven’t made much headway in the last few month, I still don’t know when my contract expires with my current company (so I can at least get a raise because I am at my salary cap right now).
I’m on a waiting list for a civil service job as well…
I’m starting a Masters degree program to help with this so hopefully I see progress in the next 1 to 3 years.

Today was the day of my civil service exam for project manager. There were 80 questions in all and I was confident on at least 75 of them, so-so on maybe 3 questions and took a stab at 2 of them.
All in all I am looking forward to a score in the 90s, but a 100% would be nice! I should have the results in 4-5 weeks.

I wrote over a year ago about an opening in Manhattan, that never materialized. We had an opening again in the Bronx and it doesn’t look like that’s happening either.
It seems I’ve hit the ceiling in my company, so I’ve started searching for new jobs. I plan on taking the civil service test for project manager for the Department of Design and Construction.
I got a great career helping all americans save tons of money up to 50% or their dental services for 99 dollars a year for an individual, families 159.00. This is not an advertisment but I am very happy about what I do. Check out the web site and you will understand, You can call and ask for me, Giuseppe

My manager gave me some great advice about continuing to do well in my current role, think about the organisation from a bigger perspective & roles will come.
I don’t feel the urgent urge to move on, because I seriously love my job, so I will continue to grow in my current role and continue to outperform!

Right now I’m working in the Bronx, which isn’t exactly glamorous, but I really like it. I’m used to it, I know the roads, and I know the people.
However, my boss let me know that there has been an opening in our Manhattan yard and he put my name into the running. It will include:
I am definitely interested in the position and would take it in a heart beat if I get it. From what I understand I have a good chance, but it’s not 100% – so I won’t get my hopes up too high.
PS: I will definitely be moving to Manhattan if I get the job.

I’ve been in my current role as a Business Development Manager for a Financial Services company for 3 years now. One of the things that scared me was the guy I replaced had been doing the same job for 16 years!
I reckon I have another 3 to 4 years in the role before I move on to my next one, which gives me enough time (hopefully)to work out what I want to do & train for it.
In the meantime I’ll keep doing what I love. 2006 has been the best year ever business-wise.

I saved my company $40k-$60k in time and materials by being pro-active and taking initiative.
The message was relayed to the “big boss” and he was impressed.
This looks good for me.
