That last time I ran a mile I ran it in 10:30. That’s shitty, but it was an improvement. Two months prior to that I ran a mile in 13:00. It’s been a year since the last time I ran, but I want to get back into it and lower my overall time.
How to run a mile in 7 minutes
"Exhilarating"
How I did it: Two months ago I started my first year at my high school's cross country program, and to be honest, it sucked at first. It was (and is) hard work, and I probably average somewhere from three to four miles a day, five days a week. I pushed myself and stayed dedicated, and I think that's all you really need to accomplish any goal. Stay positive. The two and a half minutes I took off my mile time was just an added bonus to really feeling like I accomplished something.
Lessons & tips:
- Stay positive
- Find a support system
- Push yourself
- Never make excuses
- Stay dedicated
- Have fun!

I am currently at 9 minutes and 30 seconds for my first mile…they just get longer after that. This means…major improvements needed.
Ugh…hello treadmill.
