attend a toastmaster's meeting

I’ve been told that attending this group can help one develop leadership and public speaking skills. I think these are “life” skills that are invaluable regardless of one’s occupation.

Not only that, but I think this would be a good opportunity for me to meet new people and perhaps I’ll make a friend (another one of my goals).

I saw an ad in the local paper for a meeting tomorrow afternoon. I will call the number tomorrow morning to get more information. I don’t know that I’ll be able to attend tomorrow’s meeting as I’ve got a lot on my plate right now, but maybe I can at least get some information. I have a lot bigger fish to fry right now (like finding a job!) than attending a Toastmaster’s meeting.

From someone who took the Toastmasters classes that you can take all the classes you want but unless you are passionate about what you are talking about, all the things that Toastmasters taught you go out of the window. I may revisit this but right now, I will just wing it.

I can sound like a blathering idiot talking to people. Especially things that I am passionate about. In order to make things happen, I need to attend a Toastmaster’s meeting. I am going to wait until I get a job and get a set schedule before I start looking for a meeting to attend.
