Since I’m now watching almost one old movie a day (yesterday I saw “It’s a Wonderful Life”) and that I know I’ll keep on doing so because I’m addicted to them, I consider this goal done. :)
I saw this movie 2 months ago and God I hated it !... because of Marilyn… I was SO disappointed, she’s not a good actress ! She’s quite bad actually ! Jane Russel was great on the other hand.
I can’t believe how bad Marilyn is… My true name is Marilyn which makes me feel even worse.
Love Fred Astair ! And I keep on enjoying the beautiful and lovely Audrey Hepburn.
Does this movie was an inspiration for Ugly Betty ? That’s what I’ve been wondering during the movie.
I’m getting addicted to old movies, they bring joy to my day ! Life feels simpler afterwards.
God this movie made me remember how hard I want to learn tap dancing !
Oh my god ! I absolutely ADORED that movie ! Audrey Hepburn is so amazing. Georges Peppard character’s following line killed me :
You know what’s wrong with you, Miss Whoever-you-are? You’re chicken, you’ve got no guts. You’re afraid to stick out your chin and say, “Okay, life’s a fact, people do fall in love, people do belong to each other, because that’s the only chance anybody’s got for real happiness.” You call yourself a free spirit, a “wild thing,” and you’re terrified somebody’s gonna stick you in a cage. Well baby, you’re already in that cage. You built it yourself. And it’s not bounded in the west by Tulip, Texas, or in the east by Somali-land. It’s wherever you go. Because no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself.
Now that I’ve seen this movie, I want to see so many more old movies and musicals !
I’m especially interested in American old movies because i’ve seen many French old movies, but I have a lot of old American movies to watch!
I might start with Breakfast at Tiffany’s ! :)
Cody is making lists.
there’s something that is visually spectacular about black and white, as well as early Technicolor films..
Something I can’t get my finger on exactly.
As well as the fact that when you look at them, you don’t see actors… you see people.
The 1950’s-1960’s film area had some of the world’s greatest actors and actresses.
I’m just jealous that I can’t live in a black and white picture.
