go on a real vacation.

Orbitz has a Virgin Atlantic flight from Chicago to London for $90…....... come on uncle Larry…. Write me back and tell me that’s the perfect time to visit!!!!!!!!!!

I’m positive i’m jinxing myself by writing this because it seems like everything I’ve said about a vacation in the past has completely crumbled as soon as I wrote down or said something about it… but anyway…. the last week of March orbitz has flights from OHare to Heathrow for $107. One-hundred-and-seven freeking dollars! of course with fees and taxes it still comes out to around $450 but either way… that’s still incredibly cheap. Mind-blowingly cheap. So in the last few days (knock on wood of course!) I think I’ve managed to get my finaces a little more under control in terms of getting school paid for, and by the time I get my tax return back I should even have a liiiiittle bit left over. Maybe enough for a well deserved vacay? We’ll see of course… cuz I might be kicking myself later on down the line when I regret buying plane tickets cuz I’m struggling to pay for my classes again… but I’ll just keep my fingers crossed on this one…... :)

This is why I hate facebook and myspace or whatever other form of internet stalking there is out there…. I wake up on a dreary Chicago morning, you know, one of those where it’s not terribly freezing but it’s just warm enough to make some of the snow start to melt into a never ending swamp of mud and mush but still cold enough to actually still feel like winter and have to wear a heavy coat. But anyway…. where I’m doing with this is that I hate facebook and myspace because now I’m forced to look at all the pictures of all my friend’s fabulous vacations and adventures plastered across screen and I can’t remember the last time I’ve felt so stuck :( My one friend from grade school just started her new job in Oahu. Freeking Oahu. That’s MY dream damnit! She has this beautiful office over looking the mountains and the city below. It’s incredible. Another friend of mine is going to school in Spain and she has these new beautiful pictures from her trip to Portugal of her and her friends laying on this golden beach in between massive cliffs. It’s stunning. Another friend from high school just got back from Costa Rica and has amazing pictures as well….
I guess this is the part of going to school that I forgot I hated so much… the lack of freedom to do and go where ever I wanted whenever I wanted. Two years ago I used to be able to pick up and leave at a moments notice but now I’m just totally stuck and I HAAAATE it. I’m stuck because of my jam packed class schedule. I’m stuck because I’m absolutely flat broke trying to pay for school. I have got to just keep telling myself 2 and 1/2 more years…. that’s is Veronica… 2 and 1/2 more years and then I’ll be able to go where ever I want and actually afford it too. In in the mean time tho can everyone I know PLEASE refrain from going on fabulous vacations with out me? Thanks. I’d appreciate it.

Now I’m really hoping this happens… so my mom’s been talking about taking us all on a trip this year and originally the plan was to go out west and see Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone and the badlands and all that… and as amazing as that sounds my only concern was that I only have 2 weeks off for my summer break from school and a trip like that pretty much takes that long. I just know when we went on our trip a couple years ago to the grand canyon and yosemite and death vally it really was more of a trip than a vacation because hiking and camping (as fun as it is) is a lot of work and I just don’t know if I’m gonna be up to spending my entire 2 weeks off trecking through national parks, sleeping on the ground, and coming home more exhausted than when I left. Anyway… my mom decided that where ever it is we want to go she wants to be able to take my grandparents along too, so that pretty much automatically rules out this national park trip. Anyway… we were talking about either going to the Domincan Repulic or possibley on another cruise. I really wouldn’t mind either so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see. I still want to go visit my uncle in England too. I’ll have to figure out some time I can do that too. Maybe for my birthday :) Anyway… it looks like this’ll actually happen this year so I’m crossing my fingers! :)

One of the nursing homes I applied at finally called me back today to schedule an interview. Oh my gosh I couldn’t be happier. I’m so tired of being broke and this way I can try and save a little bit out of each pay check to put towards a vacation. Haha, now all that’s left is actually getting the job! And if not there’s always Hooters! lol

I drive over the highway everyday and wish I could just get on and drive and drive as far as I could until I run out of gas.

I want to go on a real vacation! My mom always has these camping vacations planned but I really think I need to do something that involves a little less work. I want a vacation, not a trip! I really think this year I’m gonna use my tax return to go somewhere. I’ve always wanted to go to Figi but that might be a little much. I’ll have to think about it :)

I would really like to take a real vacation and not just a few days or weeks off from work, just sitting at home. I use to travel all of the time when I was in the service but now with school and work plus no real friends who share the same interest I sort of feel stuck. I really would like to see Spain or maybe Amsterdam again or Germany again, anywhere but here.

we all went to california, although it wasn’t for vacationing purposes…my husband and I thought that we could sneak away for alittle bit from the kids, and maybe go on a nice romantic date, but the trip went horribly and we had no time for that…we will try again nexttime

We are thining of planning a “no-kid” get-away to Disney World! They have specials for in-state residents. hopefully there are other cool discounts available. If you know of any good websites, let me know
