this is my lowest area in the LSAT. I was hoping somebody had a pdf version of the Reading Comprehension bible.
How to ace the LSAT
How I did it: I took a well-regarded prep course between June and August of this year. When I saw that my scores were all over the place (varying by 9 points), I decided to change my plans to take the test in October. I opted to retake the course (for half price) and registered to take the test in December. BEST DECISION EVER. My scores leveled out a lot, and actually went up higher than I ever expected.
Lessons & tips: Don't take it until you're ready. And take your studying seriously. It sounds like I'm being dramatic, but each point earned could mean $$$ in the future!
Also, nobody is going to tell you this, but people who say they study for 8 hours a day and have taken 50 practice tests are probably lying. Take time to relax if you need it. I took whole days/weekends off at times and have no regrets. Know yourself. Just keep practicing and taking practice tests regularly and monitor your results.
And make sure you have a good testing center! Ask your friendly neighborhood LSAT veterans, and/or visit it beforehand. I got lucky with mine - cushy swivel chairs, long tables, and no noise!
Resources: The PB&J I ate during break. But seriously, message me if you want to know - I'm happy to help.

Well, I am somewhat ambivalent about this because I’m not 100 % committed to doing it, and I’m just afraid of disapointing my own expectations. But I’m trying to be rational here. I know this exam is not a test of my “intelligence” and therefore, not – as I seem to thin in my most neurotic moments – a measure of my worth as a life form. If I actually studying for this thing, I will do as well as anyone. I have to start preparing for this in a more discipline fashion. I need to start getting excited about this. Reading the other posts here is motivating.
About 6 weeks to go…my score has gone up 10 points, and then back down 3 points. Kind of upsetting. I need to gain at least 5 to feel semi-confident in my odds of getting accepted to the school I’m bent on attending.
Started a prep course on Monday – first diagnostic was, predictably, about the same as that first test I took in my apartment (actually, a little WORSE), since I hadn’t done all that much studying. However, on the one section I did study, LG, I did 5 questions better. I suppose that’s progress? That said, I’m gonna need a heck of a lot more progress than that!
Watch me ;)
So far, I took one practice test without ANY knowledge of the LSAT whatsoever, and it was truly ugly. I’ve got my work cut out for me!
me-ow. is all fired up
I took a practice test and scored a 172 out of 180, which is a good beginning score. I plan on taking a prep course this spring and taking the test in June. I also plan on acing it, as much as something like that can be planned.
I took the Dec. 1 test and I think it went well. I wouldn’t say I “aced” it exactly, but I think I did well enough to get admitted to most of the schools I applied to. I’ll have to wait for the score in January to know for sure.
Doing all of those seemingly endless logic games really helped! I wasn’t able complete all 4 of the puzzles on the test, but I came a lot closer than I would have if I had not studied so hard. By doing all those practice games, I not only got faster, but improved my accuracy A LOT.
I got 5 different study books and am working my way through them. The logic games are giving me hell, but I’m going to keep trying to crack them.
