How to study acting
How I did it: Studying drama was one of the best things I've ever done and I highly recommend it to anyone. As I did it for a qualification it was quite full on and required a lot of dedication. It also meant sacrificing my social life for a few months before our final acting pieces but because I was doing something I loved and doing with others who shared the same passion it didn't bother me at all. It has made me so much more confident as a person, not only in performing to an audience but also in general situations like walking into a crowded room and not being overcome by it. I also feel it has made me a much better person and a lot nicer to be around. Taking on a role forces you to be someone else, seeing things from there point of view. It gives you a chance to experience how others live. Studying direction as part of this was also massively useful, learning to instruct others to get the best from them but also to take instrustions, criticisms and working with others to get to that final all important performance. :) It was definatelly worthwhile and I cant recommend it enough.
