I have started taking sports training sessions at the Y three times a week, & it’s amazing how fast my muscle mass & balance has been coming back. I’m quite happy because my bad leg has been almost equal to my good leg. I hope to be in shape enough to run distance by the summer so I can do cross country in the fall. I would like to run a 5K in June but I’m not sure if that will be happening. Also, I need to start skating and doing TKD again. The thing about getting back into shape is it’s something you just have to do. Take running for instance; nearly every summer I take about a month long break. The first week running again is hell, but after that I become back in shape & I can run. It amazes me how many people want to lose weight instead of get in shape. The number on the scale really shouldn’t matter to anyone. In fact, muscle weighs more then fat. When I shattered my ankle I lost five pounds, & I’m only starting to gain that muscle back. You should judge yourself & your fitness by how it makes you feel, not by a number. If you feel like you are able to excercise more than you were before, & you feel better about your body, that is good enough. I’m going to continue becoming fit again, & everyone else should keep it up as well!

Well, the gym costs too much money, and while the yoga and pilates and busting my butt on the treadmill seemed to help a bit, I never did lose more than about 5 pounds, so I got frustrated after about 4 months and gave up for a long time. I bought a Wii Fit last week on the first day they were available in the US, and have been doing at least half an hour- 45 minutes every day of yoga and strength exercises, as well as balance and the aerobics. I have lost a couple of pounds, but we’ll see if that’s real in a few weeks, I guess. I do love the Wii Fit, though! Who knew working out could be fun?!

I used to dance, now I barely do anything except school and I miss that constant cardio. I need to get back to equilibrium, or so..

I joined Gold’s Gym here about 3 weeks ago. I got a 3 month membership (prepaid) and have been every day except Sundays since. I always do a while on the treadmill- I started at about 20 minutes, now I am getting a bit peeved and do 45 minutes to an hour. I have added 20 minutes on the elliptical this week, as well as doing circuit training twice a week. So why am I still as fat as ever? I’ve lost about half a pound, and my body looks exactly the same to me. :(
My hubby has been going at 4:30 most mornings, and he looks like he’s dropped at least 15 or 20 pounds. No fair.
