Well this kind of 4 weeks ago

goes with my goal to buy a prefab house. Right now I want to buy a small piece of land near the Rockies and build a little flat pack house around 600-1000 sq feet. We just spent the weekend out there and it was probably the happiest I’ve been in a very long time, probably since the last time I was out there. I actually had a random job offer from a client out in Denver this week. If the housing market wasn’t horrible and we could actually sell our home here we might have seriously considered it.

I want this most of all! 1 year ago

I have decided that of all the things I’ve wanted in this whole world…and there have been alot. At 46 yrs old, I’ve tried everything, singing in a blues band(at the House of Blues), learning to play drums, travelled, owned a bar, gone to law school, ran a 5K got married, wrote a book… and the list goes on. But this…this is not one of my ADHD fits. I just don’t know how to start. I’m going to start a savings plan for the down payment. I want to have 20% in two years. I’m so excited.

    It's a Good Thing!!! 2 years ago

About three years ago I decided that it would be nice to have a “getaway” here in Arizona. I live in Phoenix which can be oppressive at times. It gets really hot in the summer and doesn’t even cool down at night anymore. The traffic is hideous all year round and the pace is continually annoying. For many reasons, I cannot move out of the area, but I thought it would be nice to have somewhere to escape too at least once a month. I shopped around for a long time in areas of the state that liked. Criteria was that it would be kind out out of the way, cool down at night in the summer and be not too far from Phoenix as I didn’t want to drive all day long to get there.

After a long time of searchin I finally bought a piece of land in Rimrock (Lake Montezuma which backs to Beaver Creek and I had a house built there. There is a giant deck that we sit on and watch out over the creek. We can se the Red Sedona Mountains from the deck as well. It is an awesome place to escape for a few hours, a few days or even a week if we can. It is 1 1/2 hour drive from my house in Phoenix. Highly recommend a vacation home if you can swing it. Make it a goal!!! You deserve it!!!

I need to research the pros and cons of different locations.
    Costa Rica
    Cabo
    Peurto Vallarta
    Peurto Rico.

Flight time, cost, distance from house. Safety. Near the ocean, or on Ocean. Villa, Mexican type house

Giving up-for now. 2 years ago

Since the house hasn’t sold and the market has dropped-I’m going to give up on this one for now. I may add it back in a few months, but for now, I give up.

I’ve always wanted to do this-and if I sell the house, I’d like to divide up the profits between my new house, my office and the vacation house…but I want the vacation house to be profitable.

Where is the question? 3 years ago

I’d love a place in the Chianti region of Italy. Or maybe a small little bungalow in Maui. Or an apartment in Paris. Now we’re talking!
