How I did it: I started off with 3 items just to learn the ropes of selling on eBay everything involved in it.Listing ,customer service,shipping.
Be aware of all the fee's involved if your not conscious of them you will lose money.research your item before you list it or be sorry later.
If you decide it's for you you should also try Bonanzle.com a great online selling venue and the fees are ridiculously low!
Lessons & tips: start off with a few items so that you learn how it works and to see if you like it.Online selling is not for everyone.
Nice clear pictures and a good description and title with keywords are a must!
Resources: I use Auctiva.com to create my listings they provide me with a huge amount of options the eBay would charge me huge fees for best part of Auctiva is that it's free!

I started selling a couple things on ebay…finally. Just hope someone bids on my stuff…. as soon as I finish cleaning up my room…more ebaying! =)

I listed the first couple of items yesterday, but I won’t know if it’s worth it or not until I find out if they actually sell! :-p I have heaps of stuff from the Great Decluttering Blitz and stuff that I had put aside before, specifically to sell on eBay. It’ll be pretty sweet if I can get rid of clutter and make some extra money at the same time.

Yet another way to become more organized. I have some great things stashed away-even items that were never used or worn-that I can turn into cash on eBay. I can lessen some clutter, and remember another one of my goals while doing it-not to spend it frivolously!
