Worth doing!
If you want some recommendations, just ask. But you can find good stuff just about anywhere: record stores, internet radio stations, MySpace… Happy searching!

Here’s who I’ve been listening to lately:
Gonzalo Silva (he plays in the NYC and Boston subways – beautiful stuff)
old Goo Goo Dolls albums (just got “Hold Me Up”)
some local (Detroit area) musicians – Woodward, Commonwealth, James Stephen, Rayse Biggs, Go To 10 (80’s hair rock tribute – wow)
So I think I can say that I’ve accomplished this goal. I still love mainstream stuff – I know that true indie music purists turn up their noses at folks like me, but that’s okay. I’ll always be a Stones/U2/Zep/Clapton/Ozzy/etc. girl, and I’m proud of it!

Sweetpeas for Breakfast (Rachel) was around.
Alas, she’s gone.
Had my best friend Brian give me a few recs for some indie bands, so I’ll check them out the next time we go to Towers.

go to 3wk.com; their indie station is free and awesome, as are their amazing (legal) downloads. also try last.fm, another radio thing, and read paste magazine. it’s bi-monthly and comes with a cd and dvd. pretty groovy.

With youtube, amazon etc I am listening to more and more indie stuff on a regular basis
Yay me :-)

I know I have already posted something about this musical genius, but thought you would all love to hear her new stuff…
check out her myspace page, which has her new song, speeding cars in the music player. Lovely stuff this is!
Happy Listening!
