i taught myself to play guitar when i was 12 years old (5 years ago) and i was really into it for a couple years but the past 3 or so its just been an on and off thing. i just play when i feel like it. i think its because i get frustrated easily, and i dont have much patience. i still remember most of what i learned, i would just like to start playing more and progress further with it.

since i’ve been pursuing my vocals in my band, the poor axe has been left sitting… and its what got me into all this! I want to start a second band that I just play guitar in…
i fyou play guitar.. and you don’t do it everyday you should. The more you play the better you get. its just like sports. I’ve been playing for 9 years and i still am. I taught myself i don’t know how to read notes. Im the kind of person who can just learn the song by listening to it. I wish i knew how to read notes .it would be easier.
Wow!! soemthing that i thought that i wouldn’t have so much fun doing! it’s great how i express myself through music! nice feeling! especially when you start to talk through the chords… i love that feeling.. has anyone felt the same? You can really feel it.. especially that feeling you get when you finally learn… and you feel like you’ve actually accomplished something in your life… nothing like mastering a playstation game.. no. but something that could actually make other people happy as well… music heals the soul. So let it heal.
can`u-spell”OWNED :D
oddly, i play guitar less than ever. however, i am writing a lot more… hmmmmm…
The more you play, the better you’ll get; it’s simple, but it’s also true. The way it’s worked for me is that I’ve hit a series of plateaux: I’ll improve radically in a day or two, and then I’ll be stuck at the same level for a month or two, and then I’ll improve radically again, and the cycle will repeat itself.
Keep playing, and you’ll continue to improve. Don’t neglect the basics: start every day’s session with some scales, and keep on pushing the envelope. If you’re playing open chords, try for barre chords; if you’re playing at one end of the neck, move in the other direction; if you’re playing chords, try single notes; if you’re playing single notes, try finger picking.
Just keep on playing, and keep on challenging yourself—the day will come when you sound good.
This used to be all I ever did with my life. I remember a time when I couldn’t wait to play my guitar.
