I love California 11 months ago

I found Northern California especially beautiful. When I was staying up in the mountains by the Yuba River, I looked up at the stars and it felt like I could just reach up and pluck one right out of the sky.

from south to west 21 months ago

I’ve been wanting to do this for a while because i love the desert and mountains, and because i have family in the area. Thing is, my husband isn’t so crazy about it (we’re from S. Louisiana, where it’s very green and rains all the time), and he’s got a job he really likes here. He’s promised that he’ll move with me within five years, most likely for me to go to grad school, but i wish we could do it sooner… Louisiana has always been my home and i love it, but i’m ready to move on, away from the humidity and the mosquitos.

Southern Utah is nice near St. George. You are close to Zion and the Grand Canyon; and Las Vegas is 2 hours away.

Timid Magick should come back here more often. These goals are important.

Nowhere to run 2 years ago

My sister couldn’t house me and I still have loose ends here, so looks like this is going to be put off indefinately.

I might have to head out to the prairie provinces as there is a job boom out in Alberta and a serious lack of employment where I currently reside.

Someday... 2 years ago

I was born and raised on a farm in Maine. After graduation I traveled around the country and spent some time in Virginia Beach, Columbia SC, then Manhattan Kansas. I spent about a year in Kansas and loved every minute of it out there. I ended up coming back to Maine several months after all my traveling friends came back. In hindsight I would have stayed and traveled on my own but at 19 I wasn’t that brave.

Now I dream of going west in a few years even if I have to buy a place and live there part time (for my husbands sake). Wyoming tops my list but Montana and Colorado come in close behind. We’ll see when the time comes but either way I am going to be riding my horse out there long before I die.

I moved from the east coast to CA and loved it, but ended up coming back to the east coast. Such drastically different places and attitudes.

Good move.

AZ, NM, NV 3 years ago

I would love to live in the desert, where it’s always warm and the heat is dry. The humidity in Ohio is deadening in the summer, and I hate winter with a passion. Summer also seems to just get shorter and shorter here. And spring? Forget it. We don’t have spring in Columbus anymore-it just rains for a month and then shoots up to 80 degrees, staying moist until the sky falls. I like Ohio, and I like Columbus-beautiful fall months, plenty to do, lots of greenery even in the city, and plenty of people who share my interests—but this weather gets me pretty downtrodden sometimes. And it’s hell on my poor skin. If I could just manage to save some money for the move. . . .
