I studied this book for A level french literature. It was a difficult read but definitely worth it. The main character Meursault is certainly a very strange character lol.

this one was simple 3 years ago

L’Etranger is pretty simple and accessible, as 20th century French novels go. Not a bad place to start.

Definitely worth doing it if your language skills are strong enough. If you are still working on your skills (hell, I’m from the south and don’t know that I have mastered english yet) find a group study. Having very fluent reader as a guide is a big help. I have also read some Maupassant in french. That made me happy too. My current aspiration is to read Garcia-Marquez in Spanish.

Started Chapter One. This is a bit harder to read than Harry Potter because HP has fewer big words to translate. Still, it should be fun.

I read the English version and liked it. I’m sure reading the original would help me improve my French (at least the reading part)

The French part... 4 years ago

...wasn’t too tricky for me, since I’m French ;)
It’s an amazing book anyway.
