I studied this book for A level french literature. It was a difficult read but definitely worth it. The main character Meursault is certainly a very strange character lol.
I don’t know where to get the french version of L’Etranger on Internet. Please help me friends!!!
does anyone know where I cold find a copy of L’Entranger in English on the internet. I have bought the french version and would like to try and read both at the same time to help me with my french.
Thanks
L’Etranger is pretty simple and accessible, as 20th century French novels go. Not a bad place to start.
I would love to do this but where do I get an original french version… can i get it online or do i need to buy it off amazon or something..??? I already read it in English and it was awesome! so if someone could help… hit me back!
Definitely worth doing it if your language skills are strong enough. If you are still working on your skills (hell, I’m from the south and don’t know that I have mastered english yet) find a group study. Having very fluent reader as a guide is a big help. I have also read some Maupassant in french. That made me happy too. My current aspiration is to read Garcia-Marquez in Spanish.
Started Chapter One. This is a bit harder to read than Harry Potter because HP has fewer big words to translate. Still, it should be fun.
I read the English version and liked it. I’m sure reading the original would help me improve my French (at least the reading part)
...wasn’t too tricky for me, since I’m French ;)
It’s an amazing book anyway.
