Earlier this year I purchased a dapper white sports coat. My beloved is not fond of it. But many others appear to like it, given the amount of compliments I get whilst wearing it.
The main hurdle in owning red shoes has been my beloved’s objection. Two things have occurred: One, the above white sports coat has emboldened me to consider that she is not, in fact, the fashion arbitrator that she see herself as. Secondly, I used to own 2 or 3 pairs of shoes tops. I would buy a new pair when the previous pair wore out. The fashionista that shares my bed has a serious shoe fetish. Which, BTW, includes several pairs of red shoes. Apparently all the sharing we do has somehow led me to a place where, in addition to my running shoes, I have: A pair of casual brown shoes, and casual black shoes; I have another two pairs of dressier brown shoes (one light, one dark); The requisite pair of black dress shoes; A pair of semi casual white shoes and a two pairs of boots. Not to mention sandals, flippy floppies, and crocs for indoor use only. So I’ve broken free of the 3 shoe limit, which would have had me wearing the red shoes on a regular basis.
Given these two things I feel fairly confident this goal will be accomplished very shortly. I wonder how red shoes would look with a white sports coat? I may buy another one of those too :)
