completed! I’m very happy I did it – my arms are a little tired now but hey I liked the experience:) Wouldn’t do this kind of thing again in a “normal” working week, but during holidays it would be nice…

I’ve been swimming again yesterday and today over lunchtime – five days in a row now. Next week I’m certainly not going to swim as much, if I go on like this I’m going to look like a body builder, and I don’t want that to happen! :)
swimming three days in a row now, and it’s going reasonably well. It feels sort of unreal, ‘coz I’ve never been swimming that much before, and it’s nice to do – I was all smiling and full of energy when leaving the pool:)
Last night I was reading a very inspiring interview in the paper with a (34yo) lady who has been swimming almost every morning for 13 years in a row! Whoa!
In the past week I’ve been swimming on Monday and Wednesday noon, monday was OK, on wednesday I was happy to finish. Tried out a new pair of swim goggles, much clearer view, more stable fit, but… after 3-4 lengths the left lens suddenly fills up with water grrr“never change a winning team?” so Wednesday after 20 lengths I changed back to my old ones.
For the next week I’ve planned to swim 7 times – curious how this will work out:)
... on Sunday, Monday, Thursday & today (Friday)! Yesterday I felt challenged to keep up with a 2 other swimmers who apparently felt challenged to keep up with me – good fun & a faster 60 lengths than ever before. Today I was back to my old pace;)
Forecast for the next week is 2 swims (Sunday and Tuesday maybe), I’ll be running a 5k next Friday and want to be rasonably fit for that occasion.
This is going better than expected! I’ve been swimming two days in a row, my body feels a little tired now but swimming itself went amazingly well. The week of Jan 27-Feb 2 looks like a first good candidate as for when to achieve this goal…
Had a lunchtime swim today (3rd swim in 5 days), it felt great to get into the water and the first 10 lengths in particular were heavenly. The next swim will be Wednesday or Thursday – or maybe both?
This is a real nice challenge – I love it! I couldn’t even sleep last night thinking about it! I’ve been to the pool yesterday over lunchtime, had a lane for myself most of the time… can’t wait to go swimming more often (and in general, to get more exercise).
SMARTness: 7 days in a row; each day at least a 1500-m (60 lengths) swim. To be completed before spring (21 March) – sufficiently challenging deadline and still realistic.
Moose drunk at leopard's again!!
and this goal is technically complete! woohoo! I will probably still keep track either here or on the time goal though.
I’m in two minds about whether it’s reasonable to expect myself to swim every day without taking breaks. I usually find that after a few days I’ll be quite stiff and sore, and figured that my body would need a rest; but it was like that yesterday and I still went then and today and it’s fine, if a little slow. Maybe it has more to do with how much sleep I get than me actually overdoing it. And I can always just do 40 or have a free, slow swim on the days when it’s really tough.
I wish I knew what my body was thinking… I’ll probably keep going for now – it’s only swimming, after all!
P.S. I swam exactly 10k this week… how cool?! lol!
Moose drunk at leopard's again!!
Monday 70/30, 56mTuesday 70/30, 55/56m TWO DAYS TO GO BABY!Wednesday A very slow 40 – tired, but still going!Thursday 70/30something, 61mins – slow but did the full whackFriday 42Saturday 50 (40 in 30m and then another 10)
Sunday
Am officially finishing this goal this week (hopefully!!) – three more days to go!
For some reason 70/30 is easier than 70/20, I guess I just get into a rhythm. Sometimes I think it’s the breaststroke that makes me tired. Legs held up pretty well today, guess doing a shorter more intense swim yesterday was better than taking a day off, and I got plenty of rest last night.
Very happy with how this is going.
