It wasnt the armed soldiers in the streets so much although that was pretty dark and scarey when they fixed bayonetts
It wasnt the riot geared police there as well although where they got that armored personnel carrier blew my mind
It wasnt the mobs trying to coalesce into a coherent counter in front of the imbalanced forces they faced…
It wasnt the yelling and the maelstrom swirling about me that got me…
It was the teargas
THEN
the smoke grenades
and then shots ringing out
