Been there done that often.
How I did it: My husband has a newfound love of guns due to the changing political climate. He invited me and I said yes.We went to the range and It was so loud I cried, despite having two layers of ear protection. My tears fogged up my safety lenses. My husband showed me how to use proper gun safety, which took me a while to get a handle on how to load a gun, check for bullets. and safely unload a gun. I waited for the range officer to say it… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Just go with someone that knows what they're doing. Make sure they run through the basics before you do it. I started with a .22 (no kickback) and my nervousness soon dissipated. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I actually didn't need to do any prep for this. A friend who is an avid gun collector took me to a shooting range. We went. We shot. We took photos. We had fun. Read how I did it…
The sniper rebounded and hit me in the forehead and nose. But I was trilled nonetheless! :)

my friend took me and let me fire his SKS. i really never thought i would do something like this but it was a really really cool experience and i’m sure i’ll go back and do it again someday soon :)
that one girl knows that all big changes are made one small decision at a time!
my friend ryan lives in the country and has a wall set up to shoot at. (it’s a very think wall, that faces a very large empty field. i shot a hand gun once at the wall, and my response was “wow, that was weird.” i think almost everything is worth doing once.
LovelyStrife I've got to go; gotta leave you all behind and face the truth!
It was a thing at the state fair. It was great fun and very empowering. I’d love to do it again with proper time and training.
I shot an AK47,Glock,Scorpian,G3,Colt 45(Very comfortable) and a little gun my father in law calls ugly. My wife is south african an her dad owns a gun shop in SA thats how I got the opportunity to fire all these guns. I would recommend going with someone experienced because shooting guns is scary and it’s always a good idea to have a very experienced person to show you how it’s done, it’s an experience worth doing properly.
...but at least I know how to load and fire a gun. I’ve shot a rifle and a handgun. No shotgun yet; maybe another time. Not too excited about the kick and the lack of precision.

yup, went yesterday with a friend, was pretty rad, very different from what i was expecting. you definitely respect guns a lot more after you go, i think more people should get out and do this, it definitely helps put all the violence in our world in perspective. (and yeah, it’s pretty fun too)
