    genocide 3 years ago

i am all for going to war to help stop genocide of any culture. after studying the holocaust, and watching hotel rwanda and studying that, ive come to realize that this is a very horrible thing for anyone to go through. it makes me seriously depressed but also brings out my fighting side. i would gladly go to africa and help and fight for the innocent. id gladly give anything i could to these people. and i am not singling out anyone culture it goes for all. i can not believe people would be so ignorant and oblivious to kill a culture for beliefs…or something so meaningless as a physical trait of the culture. what is it that starts this? i sure as hell dont know, but i want it to stop. i wish in school, kids would get taught these things. history class teaches you “we came to north america and traded stuff with the indians for their land” when in fact that is completely wrong. it does not mention anywhere that we killed and raped their women and children, stole their belongings, introduced them to alchohol, and destroyed their very exhistance. schools, should teach what hatred has done. the graphic images of the dieing should be taught, and tell them “this is what becomes of hate”. nor do teens of my age (19) understand genocide, because it is hidden from view because its not pleasant…well fuck pleasant its reality, and its still happening today and we sit back and forget it happens because the mere thought of it ruins a few minutes of happiness. im sure alot less violence against races would cease to exhist. and the people that start the genocide, should be ultimately punished. i personally do not like to say they should die, it sounds as if i am acting upon the same morals…but what would you consider for punishment of someone who killed of 50,000 people of one culture? this subject is so touchy with me, i just want to reach out to these people and devote my life to helping and stopping genocide. im sure ill rant more later.

    Help! 3 years ago

I read a couple of books about Rwanda last year and watched Hotel Rwanda. I have to say it changed my life, but I need the means to help in the ways I want to…money, backing. I saw a news story about Sudan recently and realize how devastated these areas are. I question what our government is doing…
